hi Deb! thanks for the response! I did read that about the earthquke fault line... And I do remember HUGO, It hit cape cod here pretty bad too.... they say you cant escape weather wherever you go... and everyone i know is giving me attitude about wanting to relocate, so I just want to have some good responses from my new local friends. What do you do during the hurricanes? I can recall being in Nag's Head during a couple of tropical storms and jeeeeesh those were down right terrifying, so I cant imagine what the hurricane would be like. hugs!! SOPRANOS IS ON.... YAY!!

I depends on the cat of the storm. Usually if it is a cat 1 or a cat 2, I would stay here, secure everything outside and be prepared with candles, flashlights, batteries, water and food and a radio. Some board up their windows, depending on the size of the storm. But if the local forcasters say it is best to leave, then we get the heck out of dodge. It depends on the direction of the storm to where we go. I was so dumb and stayed through Hugo, a cat 4 that was a cat 5 before it hit. I thought I could get to a hospital if I needed to. I was so lucky. I lost about 12-15 trees in my yard, but not one shingle or anything was messed up. We load up the kids, pets, important papers, pictures and valuables, what ever we can fit, and ride up state and find a motel. I think last time we ended up in Union, SC. Really, the life here is so much better than the few frets we get. I hate the cold. I could not live up north. The beach rocks.
