Am I in trouble?????
I just downed a whole can of Cambell's Select Veggie Medley Soup (ready to eat) over about a 20-30 minute period. I am full but not overly...
I am worried... should I have eaten all that? I have noticed I can put more down
lately. Should I have measured out a cup and let that be it?
I am confused and concerned. I don't want to stretch my pouch.
Please someone shine a light on this subject for me.
I know my
s will tell me like it is....

I know that I am not a good example for you, BUT you should really measure your food. Chances are you would have been just as satisfied with the 4-8 oz. you would have measured out anyway.
You don't feel stuffed because the soup is mostly liquid and mushy vegetables and went right on through. You just need to watch out for the calories because even if it doesn't stay in your pouch, some of the nutrients, fat and calories will still be absorbed in the intestines.
Now this is from someone who just had part of a jumbo jack and fries and some starburst.
Don't be like me. I'm an idiot and I'm suffering now.

HEY MS PAM ... YOU'RE NOT STRETCHING YOUR POUCH SO MUCH AS IT IS GETTING SOFTER WITH TIME, WHICH IS NORMAL. IT WILL STRETCH A LITTLE AUTOMATICALLY, BUT UNLESS YOU ARE GORGING, THEN YOU WON'T STRETCH IT OUT SO THAT IT IS TOO LARGE.
YES MA'AM, YOU CAN STRETCH YOUR POUCH BUT YOU'D HAVE TO WORK HARD AT IT TO DO THAT - YOU'D HAVE TO DO THAT ON PURPOSE BY EATING & EATING & EATING OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.
YOU'RE LOOKING TO EAT NO MORE THAN 1 CUP COMBINING ALL YOUR FOOD AT ANY ONE SITTING ... THAT'S A GENERAL RULE OF THUMB FOREVER. TRY FOR 4 - 6 "SNACKS" A DAY, NOT "MEALS" ... MENTALLY, YOU'LL WANT LESS IF YOU STICK WITH THE "SNACK" MENTALITY. WHEN YOU HAVE A SPECIAL OCCASION WHERE YOU KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A "MEAL", THEN JUST ADJUST THE REST OF YOUR DAY'S EATING.
SOUP WITH BROTH IS LIKE DRINKING LIQUIDS WITH YOUR MEAL ... THE BROTH WASHES WHATEVER YOU EAT OUT OF YOUR POUCH IMMEDIATELY SO YOU DON'T FEEL FULL LIKE YOU WOULD BE EATING STEAK WHICH IS HIGHLY TEXTURED & WOULD PUSH AGAINST THE WALLS OF YOUR POUCH SIGNALING YOU THAT YOU ARE FULL.
ALSO, YOU WON'T GET A FULL SENSATION WHEN EATING SOFT FOODS ... WHEN YOUR POUCH GETS FULL, THE SOFT FOODS WILL ACTUALLY MUSH OUT THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR POUCH INTO YOUR INTESTINES AS YOU EAT MORE MUSHY FOOD & MORE LIQUID.
&, LAST ... THE LONGER YOU TAKE TO EAT, THE MORE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO EAT JUST BECAUSE YOUR SYSTEM WILL BEGIN THE BREAKDOWN PROCESS OF DIGESTING, MOVING WHATEVER YOU HAVE EATEN FURTHER DOWN YOUR DIGESTIVE TRACK. SO, IF YOU CAN EAT A SNACK WITHIN 10 - 15 MINUTES, YOU'D FEEL FULL SOONER & EAT LESS THAN IF YOU TAKE 30 OR 45 MINUTES TO EAT ...
NOT TO WORRY ... YOU ARE DOING FABULOUSLY!
GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk
Pam, I have always felt like I can eat more than what they say we can. I just have to be careful not to over do it. I can tell when I start to get full, not by a feeling but by the fact my food starts to get stuck. It's the only time it sticks now. I get worried I have stretched mine out, but, if I wait for about 20 min after eating a normal size I get the full feeling, it just takes a while for it to hit me. I hope we are worrying over nothing, but with my slow weight loss it still makes me worry. I try hard to do right, and I need to stay away from tortilla chips and jelly beans, lol.
