Target sells a cheaper version of Spanx. I don't rememebr the brand they are sold under, but they are made by the same company.
I have one girdle that is like a bike short, but the top goes all the way up to the bra line from before surgery. I LOVED it. It controlled the thighs, butt , back fat and tummy and the top part never rolled down. All the other ones I bought - even the ones with boning always rolled down. and it was comfortable.
Just go look. The last time I went (needed a smaller size), they didn't have many in stock.

Don't even waste your hard earned money on Spanx. I bought some on St Patty's day to wear to a dinning out. I first tried them on before I had to actually wear them and as I was putting them on they ripped. Mind you these things were $34 bucks from Lane Bryant. So I was pretty upset and asked my husband to please return them the next day and get me a new pair. I even asked the lady that sold them to me if they ran easy like hose and she said NO they don't run at all. WHATEVER BIG LIE!
Anyways he returns them and gets another pair I wear them that night. They are the most uncomfortable things to ever wear. They won't even stay up they keep rolling down.
I did hear that Target sold the generic version for like $18 bucks. Much cheaper so if you really want to try them I would buy from there rather than LB.
When I was worried about fitting into a dress several weeks ago, I looked everywhere, they cost a bit too. I was getting ticked because I have lost all my boobes and they fit crazy. Then while out of town, we went to walmart and found one there. Pretty cheep too. It fit and I bought it. I was surprised I found it at walmart because I had checked at Sears, Lane Bryant, Pennys, Cato's, Dillards, and a few other places. Leave it to walmart...jus****ch out for stalking women that say you look like her daughter.
