Count Down for Tanya
My angelette is having her weight loss surgery next Monday, april 9 at MUSC with Dr. B. Since she's got 7 days left, I want to give her 7 reasons why I'm glad I had WLS. Please add your own reasons also.
1. My stomach doesn't touch my steering wheel
2. When I get my hair colored, I can take off my shirt and fit into the smock
3. When I have a parent teacher conference at the primary school, I don't have to worry about breaking the little desks
4. I can climb on top of my counters now to reach the high stuff without worrying about breaking the counter or stool
5. When I take a bath, there's extra room in the tub (maybe even enough for someone else 
).
6. I can run without feeling that the noise that my footsteps make sound a little like an elephant stampede
7. Most importantly, I am happier, healthier, and expect to live a lot longer than if I had not had WLS

7 reasons im glad i had surgery:
1) when my 4 yr old says "lets jog mommy!" i can actually run with her and i have to "let" her beat me now instead of me stopping about to pass out.. and she giggles the whole time
2)i can go to carowinds and FIT in the rollercoasters with my kids
3)i can walk long distances and exercise without getting stress fractures in my feet
4)i feel like i dont live my life around my size anymore, i never realized how much "big people" concentrate on being big that we forget to live! its all i was worried about was my size and who was staring at me and making fun of me. Now i dont care!
5)i can shop in the "regular" stores and spend less money
6)i FEEL pretty and that my husband actually thinks im "hot" when he says it 
7)the most important reason.. it inspired my dad to go ahead with his surgery to help save his life! for us to live LONG healthy lives and go places and have fun with family!

1. I never worry anymore about fitting into restaurant booths.
2. I can wrap a towel around my body after showering ... and nothing shows!
3. I can walk up the stairs in my house ... holding an armload of laundry ... and not have to slow down, or lose my breath.
4. I can sit in just about any position I can imagine ... and be comfortable.
5. I can do anything else I can can imagine ... in just about any position.
6. I can take walks around my neighborhood without wanting to call for a ride back home again.
7. I can buy clothes from anywhere.
8. I can buy lingerie from Victoria's Secret.
9. I can use the arm rests on chairs again. For years, my huge ass lifted me up so high when I sat on it, that arm rests were too low for me to use!
10. In the 10 months since my WLS, I've made new lifelong friends, believed in myself, LAUGHED so much, lowered my blood pressure, and despite the complications I had in the beginning ... I know that my decision to have the surgery was the BEST thing I've ever done for myself.

cant wait till tonight!!! i feel like i havent seen my friends in forever .. lets run away to the beach! 
First off, Wish Tanya a Happy surgery Day. I will see Dr. B after her surgery and ask about her. Now my reasons.
1) I can keep up with my 4, almost 5 year Goddaughter. 
2) I can chase my greyhound mix dog around the backyard and she tires before me. 
3) I am healthier than I have ever been in my life.
4) I can shop in the misses section of a store and rest assure it will fit. 
5) I can walk into the Limited and not get a look like "What are you doing here?" 
6) I can go shopping with my best friend and we shop in the same sections.
7) I can fit in my best friends clothes and my mother's. Mom and I are starting to have issues with the laundry. Some of my clothes are ending up with her stuff and visa versa. Hopefully that will change with plastics, I should be smaller than my Mom at that point. 
8) I am enjoying life more than I ever have. I can walk into a room and not want to hide in the corner but get out there are dance 
evident by the trip to MB. 
9) When a guy hits on me, he is not "taking one for the team".
10) Saw my oldest friend the other week and realized I am smaller than she is. I told I wish I had some of my large clothes for her 
Not being mean ladies, she is a size 10/12. And she loved it. She has waited her whole life for me to get healthy and lose weight. She was sorry I did not have them either, she needed them.
11) And most important... The friends that I have made on this board. Life long friends that I will never forget and that have changed my life.
I know that is 11 but hey I could keep going.
By the way Mary, what is Dr. Harvey's number, I am going to talk to Dr. B about plastics on Monday.
