Ok ladies, I am about sick and tired of this breakthrough bleeding that is going on. My period started 2 weeks early. It did it like this a couple months but at the time, I contributed it to the tremendous amount of stress I was under. I had a regular month last month with no breakthrough but this month I am having break through bleeding. Does this mean that the pill is not working? Someone even suggested this could be implantation bleeding and I could be pregnant I don't think that is the case, I think it is too much to be implantation spotting. Can anyone shed light on this...please??? Rachel

I had the same problem. You are not absorbing the pill correctly. You may want o switch to the nuva ring at least temporarily. At a year out, I am back on the pill and I'm absorbing it fine now. I could not be on any of the "lite hormone" birth control pills. I had to get bacK on the full strength ones. No more break through bleeding though. Kathy

im with kathy, sounds like ur not absorbing the pill.. which means ur not protected.. which in turn could mean u have implantation bleeding.. i had that but it was light spotting when i was pregnant. Id call ur OB/GYN tomorrow to see what u should do. I would switch to nuvaring for a while. i dont mind mine.. jen

I have a tilted uterus so I am not sure that I would be able to use that nuva ring. I'm one of the 15% of women with a tilted uterus...just means I have to stand on my head if I wanta get pregnant. Rachel

well im no doctor.. but it goes in your wahoo not in your uterus! lol.. it sits in the vaginal canal before the cervix.. not like an iud that gets inserted into the uterus.. so it should work if you dont mind fetching it every 3 weeks and replacing it a week later jen

I fought break through bleeding for most of my life, clots as big as your fist. Finnaly a few years ago I had a hysterectomy. Oh how I love not having to deal with Aunt Flo. Deb

My daughter had the same problem, and they changed her pills to something stronger. Call the doctor and get them changed. Hugs! Mary
