Carbonation
Before I had my surgery I was a Spriteaholic. I could down me some of them cold thangs.
I know if I tried now I would die....lol...Talk to me about carbonation. I know I could probably take a sip of diet, but I do not want to abuse my tool. So talk to me once again ladies. Give me some of your wonderful advice. Pros and cons...Love Jennifer

hey Jennifer!
I do drink diet sodas. I try not to drink them often, but usually don't have too many problems. When I first started drinking them it did bother me though. Tons of burps. I would fill up very quickly and sometimes it would be painful if I drank quickly. I still have to drink them slowly, but it hardly ever bothers me now.

I tried Carbonation about 3 months out of surgery and I felt a little sick the first time. However, now I can drink it with no problem, although I prefer water now!!! When I do drink it, I burp like crazy.
I mean I could burp the ABC's if I had too!
Each person is different. The only way you are gonna know is to try...but try it home...where you can let it rip!!!

Word of advice.. Dont drink the regular sprite as your first carbonated drink unless you dont want to drink carbonation!
it is the most painful and carbonated..
i like the sprite zero, to me it taste better than regular sprite.. i am able to drink carbo but it makes me burp. I tell everyone "excuse me, more room out than there is in"
which is SO true now! lol.. But if u do drink it, take it slowly .. it can be really painful until you get that burp out if it gets stuck down there!

Before surgery, when we met with the nurse, she told us that carbination would strech your pouch out and not to drink any. I admit, I tried diet sprite, I loved it before too, but it was nasty.
I have had a few sips of diet pepsi or coke, not sure what it was, it was weeks ago. At first it tasted good, then after that it was nasty.
All I ever drink anymore is water. I freeze a half full bottle and then fill it up with unfrozen water and its good. Before surgery I loved Crystal lite, now it is too sweet for me. I have started to drink coffee for the first time in my life...thanks Susan and Margo.
