I should have known to listen to all the people who warned me about it.
Doc gave me samples and said to call in for a refill if it worked okay. I forgot to call in for a refill and have been without it for 2 days.
I am having HORRIBLE withdrawal side effects!! I am dizzy, I can hardly see, I am having muscle twitching. My tongue keeps spasming in my mouth!!!
I want to explode in TEARS right now.
I feel awful.
and it keeps getting worse as time goes on.
I'm glad I found this out just in time to call and leave a message that I DON'T WANT THIS DRUG!!!
I wish I didn't have to take anything at all....

From what I'm haering, they all do.
We need someone to figure out how to rewire the brain to work properly at all times. I hate medicine.
ack.. my MIL tried to commit suicide and it was attributed to effexor! I passed out at the beach one year and i was on effexor and no alcohol lol.. its a bad bad drug in my opinion! Zoloft works great but makes me sleepy.. lexapro worked good too. i just never take it
i should start to ! hope you feel better!!!!

I got off of Prozac becasue of the sexual side effects. It was not good for me or my marraiage. That is why I was switched to this one.
My doc just talked me into continuing the effexor.
I 'm so confused.
Oh no Kathy!
Please let your doc know about the tongue spasms ... I'm remembering reading something about this when Em was going through her withdrawals from this evil drug ... and now I can't remember details, but it seems as if this might be significant in some way.
Have you felt any better at all since posting this? I know Em's withdrawal lasted for a few weeks ... but she was on a large dosage and had been for many months. Her doc prescribed a low dose of prozac to ease the withdrawal symptoms ... don't know if it helped at all though. It was a miserable thing to watch, and I can't even imagine what it's like to go through.
Call me if I can help you in ANY way ... thinking about you ...

Well, I just got off the phone with my Doc and he REALLY REALLY thinks I should stay on this. It was working while I was on it. he told me never to just quit cold turkey like that. I had to ramp off of it.
He talked me into staying on it because he felt I needed to. It really worked great for me when I was actually taking it regularly. I guess I will just keep watching out for any other weird side effects and be prepared for what will happen if and when I have to get off of it.
I think I'm gonna start doing some research in to natural ways to get a hold of my depression and PMDD. I HATE being dependant on medicine. I've been on them for YEARS.
I KNOW for sure, I don;t want any more prozac. I'm done with that.
