I admit it.. I'm getting OLD ... I went to the eye doctor last week.. and my perscription has changed AGAIN.. and this time.. the man had the NERVE to tell me I needed bi-ficals... after picking my jaw up off the floor.. and explaining to this man that I was ONLY 43!!! And there was no way I was going to stick a bi-focal contact lens in my YOUNG eye...I decided then and there to get vision correction surgery...So on Friday.. I went for a consult and have scheduled an appointment for the surgery on the 19th of April... it's going to take less then 30 minutes to correct my horrible eyesight.. I can not wait...!!!! I'm so tired of contacts and glasses!! So this really is the year it's all about ME.. first weight loss surgery.. then vision correction surgery.. next.. after I make goal weight.. I'm getting my girls LIFTED!

YaY for you. My husband wants to have that surgery but the Air Force only pays for it if he goes to their Dr's and the closest one is in Alabama or Miss. Can't remember where exactly but it's not South Carolina. He's blind as a bat without his contacts. Congrats!!

I am jealous...I would love to have my vision corrected but cannot afford it right now...maybe one day if I start working full time...but that may have to wait till after I finished homeschooling my daughter...but I am so happy for you!!! My sister said it was the best thing she ever did other than her breast reduction. Joanm

THAT IS WONDERFUL ... BOTH NICK & I WANT THAT DONE ... SICK OF GLASSES & THE TRENCHES THEY CAUSE ON THE SIDES OF OUR NOSES! WE SAW IT BEING DONE ON TV & IT WAS FINISHED IN NO TIME & THE PATIENT HAD IMPROVED VISION IMMEDIATELY. WE'RE SO HAPPY FOR YOU, MS STEPHANIE!! GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

Thanks Dawn!! I'm pretty excited about getting it done... The total cost averages $4000.00 for everything.. and it's for a lifetime.. so if in the future, I have a vision problem, they will go back and fix it for free... This vision center offers a BCBS of SC discount.. however, my insurance is BCBS of MA ... but the guy gave me the discount anyway.. so total cost for me on the 19th of April is going to be $3,400.00 .. But I figure it this way.. with the new glasses I was going to have to get .. (which were around $600 ) and the new script for contacts.. my right eye averages about $18 per contact for that eye alone and I have to change out contacts for that eye once a week..... I would be spending about the same amount of money over a 2 year time period... Not to mention how annoying contacts are at the lake in the summer... I've lost many while tubing on Hartwell...
