needs help

Hi all, I have a question... I have formed a hernia at the top of my RNY incesion next to my breastbone.... most days I have a huge knot sticking out of it and boy does it HURT !! Anyway what could the knot be and how dangerous is it really? My doctor knows about it and said if it gets worse before I get to the weight I want then he'll have to do emergency surgery to fix it.... So my question is will this kill me? I know it hurts and I can't hardly go poo unless I've pushed the hernia area and held it for a bit... then I might get to go but other than that it really does bout kill me.... Thanks in advance for your opinions....

HI The knot you describe sound like you have a loop of bowel in the hernia, and it can be very dangerous. If the blood supply to that are of bowel is compromised it can die and cause a big infection. When you push on the hernia does it go back into your stomach or does it all just say out?

I can pu**** back in but it doesn't stay.... they have me on pain meds for now and we're hopeing I don't have any damage by the time I get to have my surgery.... right now my husband is still out of work from where he had a major heartattack and a quad-bypass.... he supposed to get to go back to work at the end of april so hopefully I'll make it till he does... right now we're about to lose all utilities and stuff so I can't think about my health right now... *hugs and thanks for posting to me...
