I was sitting at my desk feeling very hungry, but it was not time for me to eat my mid morning meal, and I was getting antsy just sitting there with nothing to eat and could not just get the thoughts out of my mind and get back to work. I was concerned that I would either eat another protein bar before its allotted time or worse, as I was looking through my draws for something to snack on. I don't having any food stashed in my desk, but I needed to look around any way, when in my search I came across my travel tooth brush, a folding one I bought at Publix, and some peppermint Crest liquid gel tooth paste. So I headed over to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and the peppermint flavor did the trick and gave me the sensation that I had a snack when I did not really have any. I never really though of doing that before when I get antsy, but it seems to do the trick and keeps away from wandering off my meal plan. Now I will have to try brushing tonight when I get board walking on the treadmill.

Great tip!! I am going to try it. I am 4 years postop and find it harder each day to stay on track. I would love to be in the "honeymoon" period again!!

I have tried that too. Nuts work very well, they stay in your tummy a long time. I also try drinking water/propel or crystal lite. Good Tip! Deb

NOW, THAT WAS A CLEVER IDEA, MR HERB! HAS ANYONE USED SUGAR-FREE CHEWING GUM TO STOP THE CRAVINGS? I HAVEN'T BUT WAS WONDERING IF THAT WORKED. USUALLY WHEN I WANT TO GRAZE IT'S OUT OF BOREDOM, NOTHIN' ELSE! WATCHIN' TV OR READING, ON THE PC ... THAT KIND OF THING. I CAN HANDLE IT MOST OF THE DAY, BUT THE EVENINGS ARE MY PROBLEM TIMES. GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk
