Many of you are going to read my post and say Oh Please! Get a life... I am very concerned for my own health. I was in a car accident in Sept 2006 and have been unable to get around or excersize since. I continue to gain weight dispite watching my food intake. I am approaching the 40% BMI rapidly which means I am nearly 63 pounds overweight and only about 5' tall. I will likely always have trouble walking and already have artheritus in my ankle. I also have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, hypoglycemia, fibromyalgia and was treated for 4 years with antidepressants for the fibro and depression. I don't know if I should take advantage of current dissabilities and have the bypass or take a chance that I will stop gaining soon. I would like your input. This is truely a discision I am struggling with. Tammie

i would never say "oh please get a life" about your medical problems... they are valid and yours. I think you should go to several seminars at doctors offices' they are free and will give you more information about everything than we can try to give. Maybe lapband would be an option since youre a "lightweight".. well honestly i dont know since im 5'10 and youre 5'0 you might can benefit from rny. like i said, were not doctors, but i would highly recommend going to seminars.. theyre very informative! Good luck! Jen

Jennifer's right -- go to some seminars, and talk to your regular doctor and a surgeon and get their opinions. You are considered a lightweight (though it may not seem like that to you!) so the surgery may not be an option, even with the co-morbities. So, talk to folks. Good luck! Lisa
