I'm Homesick Today

I was watching the Travel Channel and they were in Savannah talking about southern home cooking and showed Seabrooke Island the other day, and it made me soooo homesick for home Tommy is gone again for a week so far, and who knows how long, he is in Macon, GA and if I did not have my photo shoot tomorrow, and then class on Sunday, I would have come home this week!! I just miss the friendly folk no matter where you go People who look you in the eye and smile!! and just the beautiful scenery of the South and yo mama's good ole' Southern cooked food (veggies and fried chicken...sans skin) Love you guys!!! I love going to Savannah. Yea, nothing beats the people and the food of the south. That's what got me in the fix I am in now. My dad loved to see us eat. We grew our food, then put it up in the freezer or canned it. Peas & rice, gravy & rice, tomatoes & rice, and don't forget the cornbread and fried chicken and porkchops. My two boys love that stuff. I hardly fry foods like that anymore, so they always want to go to grandma's to get her to fix it. And she will... Deb

Deb...that is sooo funny because I miss CA and the coast line, and the food...fresh vegies, mexican and Taco Bell...the freindly people I knew there and the warm Santa Ana winds and low humnidity...depends on where you feel your roots I think...hoping you get to see you southern friends soon and that your heart will be knit there soon with great friends. And I have started eating more but make sure I eat the "right stuff". Love ya Girl..Joan M
