YIPEE!!!

I saw my PCM today and he put in the referral for me to see the surgeon!!!! Hopefully I will get a call form Tricare in the next few days with the name of my surgeon! So exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!

Erica you should get a letter in the mail, it takes a week to 10 days. The doctor on my referral was not one that I wanted, You can call after you get your referral and ask to get a different doctor, as long as he is in the network and they can tell you. You can go to Palmetto Health seminar that they have twice a month to get information about Gastric bypass everyone has to attend one before they start seeing the doctor. There is no cost for this. (You don't need the referral for it.) I guess the other doctors offer the same things, they'll let you know what money is needed up front. What test need to be done. What classes you have to take. Some insurance company make you wait and take so many classes. TriCare Prime doesn't make you wait. . It still takes time to get several test done. Make sure you get a referral for everything or at least ask them when you are given a appointment . I started in June and had my surgery in September. You can call Palmetto Heath Baptist at 376-5982 to see when the next seminar is and if one is coming up soon you can do it while you are waiting on the referral. Again it doesn't cost anything. No referral needed.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO!!!! My PCM did tell me that I can request another doc. I have one in mind (and accepts Tricare Prime ). Also, my PCM has had other patients who have had RNY. He has me set up to get a whole bunch of lab work done. He also wants me to get a PAP since it has been a while! What other types of tests are there? And who sends me to see a pshyc? And what kinds of cost will I incur with Tricare Prime? If I have out of pocket expenses, I want to start saving for them now. Ok, sorry for the questions. I really appriciate you taking the time to tell me about the seminar. I will get on that right away! Thanks!

Actually, your DOC is the one I want to see! Did you have a good experience with him and his staff?
