My One Year Appointment
I went for my one year appointment today with Dr. Ross. And while I am frustrated and have been playing with the same 5-8 pounds since August, he was still very proud of my progress in the last year. I've gone from a 26 to a 14, and most people wouldn't think that I was still in the 200's. One good thing is that my bloodwork was PERFECT. He said it couldn't be any more perfect...nothing was too high, nor was it too low. My official weight with all my clothes on (which is about 6 pounds higher than without) was 211
(making his total loss of 91 pounds.....97 w/o clothes, which at one time had gotten to 103--199lbs).
He also thinks that I may have an ulcer or a raw area (due to the burning pain that I have periodically and not being able to take my pain meds after my knee surgery). He said that can trigger "hunger" (which I am hungry all the time), so he put me on prevacid to see if that helps.
All in all, he gave me a good pep talk. Told me to stay away from carbs (which I usually do)....eat planned meals, and stop grazing (which I struggle with)....and keep the exercise up (which I'm working on, but it's still not a "habit" yet). I had actually thought about postponing the appointment until I got out of the 200's, but went ahead so I could start the slate clean and tackle my issues head on.
Ya'll help keep me on track. Even us older ones need help!!!
Hugs,
Dianne

MY GOSH, THAT WAS A GREAT
REPORT FROM YOUR DOC! &, EVEN WITH YOUR STALL, LOOK AT HOW FAR YOU'VE COME & HOW LITTLE A WAY YOU STILL HAVE ... YOU ARE DOING WONDERFULLY!
GRAZING USUALLY COMES FROM BOREDOM OR MINDLESSLY EATING WHEN WE ARE DOING SOMETHING LIKE WATCHING TV OR MOUSIN' AROUND ON THE PC. SO, CHANGE YOUR ACTIVITY A LITTLE & I BET YOUR GRAZING WILL GO AWAY.
WE'RE SO PROUD OF YOU, MS DIANNE. YOU LOOKED WONDERFUL WHEN YOU CAME DOWN A COUPLE WEEKS AGO & JOINED US AT LCBBuddies. YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD.
GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk
