Card needed for Yokoso's

Hi everyone! I made our reservations for 6pm tomorrow (Thursday) at Yokoso's. I asked if we could order off the children's menu and they said that if we had our card we could. If we didn't have our card then we could share a full size meal for $5 more. So, if you have a card - bring it. See you at 6!! Susan

What's up with this "card" business? I'm still in my pre-op stage and have never heard of this before. Is there some "wls card" out there that I need to know about? Or is this something totally different? And none of my business. If so sorry! Just nosey by natural. Thanks, Jamie

IT'S LIKE A "GET OUT OF JAIL FREE" CARD. AFTER YOU HAVE GASTRIC BYPASS, YOU'LL GET THIS FUNKY LOOKING GREEN CARD FROM DR BYRNE'S OFFICE THAT SAYS YOU ARE A GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENT. MANY RESTUARANTS WILL ALLOW YOU TO HAVE A SMALLER PORTION (costs less as well) OR ORDER FROM THE CHILD'S MENU IF YOU HAVE THAT CARD. BUT, HONESTLY, MOST WILL WORK WITH YOU IF YOU JUST TELL THEM YOU ARE A GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENT. THE ONLY ONES THAT WON'T GIVE YOU A BREAK ARE MOST OF THE CHINESE/ORIENTAL BUFFETS. I ORDER FROM THE APPETIZERS, JUST ORDER MEAT/SEAFOOD ALA CARTE, ORDER FROM THE CHILDREN'S MENU OR JUST TAKE A FEW BITES OFF NICK'S PLATE & ORDER A SMALL SALAD THAT I TAKE A FEW BITES FROM & GIVE THE REST TO NICK. IT WOULD BE A GREAT SAVINGS ON OUR GROCERY BILL IF I DIDN'T BUY THE STORE OUT AT THE VITAMIN SHOPPE, XANGO & FOR VITAMINS, MINERALS & SUPPLEMENTS!

Hi Jamie, I know my Dr. Byrne is the one that gives it out. I was supposed to get one before I left the hospital, but they didn't give me mine so I am having to contact the dietician and get one. But what it is is a card that just simply says you have had the surgery and is asking the restraunt to acknowledge it by either giving you a discount or let you order off the kids menu. Like I said I dont have my card yet, but so far when I go out I just let the server know that I had the surgery and most of the time they are accomadating. Now like at buffet bars I have had to get my food in the to go container and weigh it rather than paying bar price. Also I have heard of one on here somewhere but I have heard that it isn't signed by your doctor so some restraunts wont take it. Jennifer

OHHHHHHHHHH I KNOW ... I'M NOT SURE IF WE CAN MAKE IT CUZ OF NICK USUALLY GETTING OFF LATE, BUT MY MOUTH IS WATERING! HAVE A BITE FOR ME IF WE DON'T MAKE IT! I KNOW I'M NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO THINK OF IT, BUT I AM DROOLING FOR THAT SESAME (sp?) SEED RICE THEY MAKE ON THE GRILL. &, THAT THICK, SWEET DIPPING SAUCE THEY SERVE WITH THE SEAFOOD. BAD GIRL! SHAME ON DAWN!

I am going to MUSC tomorrow. If you give me a list of your names that don't have a green card, I will give the names to them and TRY to get one for each of you. I am not sure if they will give them to me or not, but I will try. Just give me your first and last name if you have already had the surgey. Deb
