Danny Hit a Deer

Hey Ya'll My son hit a deer last night on his way home from his girlfriend's house. Well, he actually hit the deer that was left in the middle of his lane that they guy that just passed Danny had hit (this guy's left headlight was out). The guy was flashing his lights and Danny just thought that there were cops ahead or something...then he went around the curve and there was the deer and no time to react. It cracked his bumper, pushed the grill in and has done some damage to the drive train (that we know of...haven't gotten it to the shop yet). But as I was calling it into the insurance company today, and they were asking questions, it hit me as to how much worse it could have been (Thank you Lord!!!). He kept it in the road and didn't wind up in the ditch, no airbags, and he wasn't hurt. They are going to have it towed, I'm getting a rental for $15 per day and my deductible for this is only $250 (not $500, which is what I originally thought). And much to Danny's surprise, I didn't go off on him (I was just glad that he was ok)!!! Hugs, Dianne

I'm glad to hear that he was ok. You'd be surprised what can happen when people hit animals. Very scary. I lived in the country all my life and in Texas everyone has horses and cows. We lived way out in the boonies where there were no lights and it got very dark at night. There were tons of accidents that involved someone's livestock getting out. It was horrible. Cars are fixable..or replaceable...that's what insurance is for! Baby boys...now thats different! Hug him extra tight today. Kathy

I am so glad he is ok. My stepfather has the same problem but in reverse. He keeps having deer**** him. Its true he has had to replace doors on 2 cars where he has been stoped at a red light and a deer charged his car. The car insurance place was hard to convince that it happoned more than once. Give your son lots of kisses, Cari
