Hi Everyone, It's me, the forever MIA gal. Just thought I would let you know that My surgery (Total Hysterectomy) is in just a couple of days on ~ Monday, Jan. 22nd, at 7:00AM at Mary Black Hospital, hre in Spartanburg. It will be a 2-5 day hospital stay according to how I do. She will be doing the bikini cut, she said about a 6-10 in*****ision. My "mother" is still being cruel, saying none of my friends will visit me, none will send flowers, etc. WHY, does she have to be SOOO CRUEL??!! OK, enough ... Dean will be staying with me the first day, Then Jessica will be staying with me the rest of the time. Keep me in prayer, Debra

Hi Debra, Will keep you in prayer, especially on Monday. Take care of yourself, follow your doc's orders. I had this a few years back. If you are like me, you don't remember much about the days after your WLS -- this too will be a distant memory soon. It sounds like you have two good people supporting you. Don't worry about whether you have other visitors -- I actually enjoyed the quiet and rest for a few days Take the time to heal and know there are a bunch of us out here thinking of you. Marce

Hi Debra - You'll certainly be in my thoughts next week. If you feel like I did, when I had my hysterectomy last month, you'll enjoy the rest! Leave your mother and her negativity behind you. (Sing with me, "I'm movin' on! ...") As my doctor told me, just relax in the knowledge that your surgery and recovery will be SO much easier on you than it would have been before your WLS!!! And mine was ... even moving over to the operating table was different! And I fit into a "normal" sized hospital gown! Be sure and take things VERY easy for the 6 weeks afterward ... that's the most important thing! ~ Dawn

I had it done about 3 years ago. Please do exactly what the doctor tells you to do. Don't be afraid to call the doctor and ask for help if you start feeling blue and weepy. There are great drugs available to help with problems from hot flashes, intimacy, to feeling blue so don't be afraid to talk about them and ask. I'll pray for you that all goes well and you recovery quickly with minimal discomfort. Let us know how you are doing once you're able to write. Oh and visit the hystersisters.com website, it has very useful information and is just like this site where you can talk to other ladies who have had or are having the surgery. Let me know if you need someone to talk to. Robin

Debra - we may sound like a broken record, but don't worry yourself about who won't be there - rejoice for those who will be! And there's a lot of us who will lift you up in prayer and send you lots of good thoughts. I had my hysterectomy in '98 (almost 10 years ago - WOW!). Rest all you can - don't rush into anything - enjoy being pampered. You'll feel better in the long run & like Robin said - don't be afraid to ask your doctor for help afterwards.
