Lap vs Bypass what do you have

What did you guys get and how much have you lost how fast?

RNY, I'm 9 months out and I've lost 86 pounds. Only 22 more til goal. Come to the upstate meeting tonight and meet everyone. We will be happy to answer your questions and we have a great time. Kathy

Hi Cari...I'm assuming you mean Lapband vs. gastric bypass. I had Gastric Bypass. 104 lbs lost since surgery, 6 1/2 months ago. A lot of factors determine how fast you will lose...how much overall weight you have to lose, how well you stick to your nutritional guidelines, how your body reacts to the surgery (everyone is different), etc... Some people lose steadily, some slowly, some in spurts. None is a predictor of how you will do! Best of luck to you! Blessings, Elizabeth

I had bypass 6 1/2 -7 mths ago ive lost 127 total, and 118 since surgery.. went from size 24/26 to 12/14's .. keep us posted on everything!!! next week will be somewhere different probably so keep your eye open on the board for the next location hope to see you there! jen

LAP RNY GASTRIC BYPASS & IT TOOK ME ALMOST A YEAR TO LOSE 100 #s ... I'M NOW AT A LOSS OF ALMOST 110 #s. MOST CAN LOSE NEAR A 100 #s IN 6-8 MONTHS WITH GASTRIC BYPASS. I had RNY bypass, also, and I'm another "slow" loser, but I've lost 101 pounds in a year. I think how fast you lose also has a lot to do with how much you have to lose.... Lisa
