23 days to go and my closest friend is looking out for me...Susan brought me 2 boxes of wedding cookies!!! MY FAVORITE COOKIE!!!! I had fried shrimp for dinner and wedding cookies for desert. Now that was heaven. She advises me to eat everything I want, and don't look back. I have 3 or 4 restaraunts on my list and red velvet and carrot cake to go. I'm done with the soda, I love grape crystal lite (Wal-mart brand). As much as I will enjoy going to those places, I am looking so forward to NOT going to those places and eating the same anymore. I want this new life so much. Thank you all for the support and information. Thank you Susan for looking out for me. Deb G

The last night before surgery I had mexican food, fajitas, not knowing that would be something I could eat after surgery, haha. I also had a mini snickers the night before surgery at 9pm when I went to bed that night. I had to take a xanax as that settled my nerves!! It is fun doing all the eating before hand, but not anymore. Sometimes I miss things, but I have been able to substitute quite often. The Cheesecake Factory here, has 6 carb cheesecake. I can't have but an itty bitty sliver of it because it still makes me dump, it is made with splenda, but I think it must have some milk or something that makes me feel ill, but the little bite I do get to eat is amazingly yummy and rich. Maybe its sugar alcohol?? Eat up and don't look back. We did it all the time, and by the end of my "last meal" month, I was sick of food. Deb

Have fun on your last meals..but remember if you gain you also have to lose it....so make choices that really are worth it. You will do great and will be amazed at how going out to eat will not be the favorite thing to do anymore. But you will get creative in picking food when out and it will be much cheaper!! I like going to Olive Garden and getting their soup and salad lunch menu....you have to ask for the lunch menu. I tell them to only put small ladel of soup in bowl so I can try the two I like. Then have small amount of salad and I even take one bite of breadstick and I feel happy and satisfied and my family doesn't feel like they are being punished by not going there anymore. Have fun and God bless. Joan M

WE'RE THE SAME WAY, MS JOAN. NICK & I LOVE TO EAT OUT & WE GO EVERYWHERE ... THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING I CAN FIND TO EAT ... APPETIZERS, ALA CARTE, CHILD'S PLATE, SOMETHING FROM NICK'S PLATE ... I NEVER FEEL LEFT OUT. &, SINCE I LOVE SEAFOOD (AS DOES MY POUCH), I'M RIGHT ON WITH PROTEIN. THE ONE THING I REALLY WATCH IS WHITE CARBS; NO BREADS OR POTATOS. I DON'T WORRY ABOUT SUGAR BECAUSE WE DON'T GET DESSERT. OH MY GOSH ... OLIVE GARDEN SOUPS ARE SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

Enjoy those last meals and do not look back. I did the same thing, had a list of last meals I wanted. One that topped my list was a Melvin's bacon cheeseburger basket. Those onion rings are the best! Saving you a seat on the loser bench... Not long now! Julie

Thanks, Deb. You're the sweetest person in the world! I am so excited about your surgery because I know how bad you want it. You are going to do great and not have any problems or complications. For the next few weeks you are going to start getting a little nervous and anxious and that is normal. Especially the last week. About 3 days prior to surgery (for me it was the day before), you are going to really start worrying and getting excited at the same time. Don't worry though - everything is going to be fine. I am going to be right there with you, physically and spiritually. We have a lot more things to do in our life together and I'm so glad you are a part of me now. God was smiling down on us the day we met, I know that for sure. That's what you call a match made in Heaven! You just need to enjoy these last few weeks of eating what you want and however much of it you want. Granted, like Joan said, what weight you gain will be weight you will have to lose but - hey! - that will happen. Live life to the fullest and love every minute of it! Love, Susan

Deb, You are looking at the queen of last meals. I had 3 months of them. Once I decided I would have the surgery...well....lets say I went crazy. I ate everything and anything that I wanted. I also gained um.....20lbs!! That sucked!! It made it a little harder when I started losing because I didn't really feel like I had done anything until I lost the 20 I had packed on pre-surgery. However, I would do last suppers all again if I had the chance. It was fun!! I did morn food some after surgery so be prepared for that. The first couple of weeks was the hardest but I'm doing fine now. God bless you and not too long now. Rachel

Ohhhh, have a bite of Red Velvet Cake for me, Ms Deb ... That is my favorite. We even had our wedding cake made out of red velvet cake with red roses on it.
