Question from Charleston
Hi Becca
I had United Healthcare Insurance and it covered 50% of procedure for Gastric Bypass. What I found out after the procedure was that since I had paid out $2,500, United Healthcare paid the remaining amount. So I was very happy to say the least. The first step u need to do is call your insurance. Get as much as info as possible since some companies have restrictions. Good Luck!!!

Hi girls from Charleston, SC. I just had lapband surgery in Conway, with Balder and Anderson. I've been home 10 days and have lost a total of 18 pounds. I can't believe how it is coming off right now.
Question: Where did yu get your surgery done? And after the surgery, how long did it take you to feel like doing anything. I could take a 3 hour nap evey day. I'm tired.

I HAD LAP RNY AT MUSC. MINE MAY NOT BE THE TYPICAL SITUATION BECAUSE I HAVE A HEART CONDITION, BUT I HAD SEVERE EXHAUSTION ISSUES FOR 10 MONTHS. I STILL BATTLE FATIGUE EVEN NOW 14 1/2 MONTHS POST OP.
UNDER "NORMAL" CONDITIONS, IT TAKES 3 MONTHS FOR A GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENT TO COMPLETELY HEAL INSIDE SO THAT WILL EFFECT THEIR ENERGY LEVEL. ALSO, REMEMBER, NEITHER GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS OR LAP BANDERS ARE EATING A LOT OF CALORIES, SO THAT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL TIRED AS WELL. ARE YOU TAKING GOOD QUALITY SUPPLEMENTS ... VITAMINS & MINERALS, SUBLINGUAL B-12, ETC? &, ARE YOU LIMITING YOUR SUGARS & WHITE CARBS; YOU WILL HAVE THAT AFTER-DINNER TIREDNESS IF YOU DON'T LIMIT THEM.
IF YOUR BODY IS TELLING YOU TO NAP, THEN DO SO ... IT SEEMS TO BE MUCH WISER THAN OUR BRAINS AT TIMES!
GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk
