I went today at lunch and picked up some toffee covered walnuts... only justifing it because the walnuts were "good for me". I looked at the label for the sugar content (10g per serving) and thought that all would be alright. Man was I wrong!!! I ate them before I got to work and probably had over one serving... anyway, I got so sick I had to go home. This is the first time and the last! I learn really quickly especially when it comes to pain. I hope everyone is doing well and having a great weekend! Pam

I IMAGINE YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS, MS ELIZABETH ... WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT THRESHOLDS FOR SUGAR, BUT, IF YOU KEEP YOUR SUGARS DOWN AROUND 4 GRAMS PER SERVING, YOUR WEIGHT LOSS WON'T BE SLOWED SO MUCH ... 15 GRAMS PER SERVING IS REALLY HIGH & WILL PLAY HAVOC WITH YOUR BLOOD SUGAR, + IT WILL TRIGGER CHEMICALS IN YOUR BODY THAT ACTUALLY TELL YOUR BODY TO STORE THE FAT INSTEAD OF USE IT. GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

Thanks for the info, Dawn! I do try to keep my sugar to a minimum. I've just had a few moments of weakness with chocolate! lol Most of the time I stick with sugar free and low carb foods. I didn't know that about it triggering those chemicals...good to know! Love ya! Elizabeth

OHHHH LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO SOME MAJORLY GOOOOOOOOOOOD SF CHOCOLATE, MS ELIZABETH ... DOVE HAS DARK CHOCOLATE, MINT/DARK CHOCOLATE & STRAWBERRY/DARK CHOCOLATE ... OH MY GOSH ... MELT IN YOUR MOUTH DELISHHHHHHH! GOOD OL' WAL*MART HAS THEM! YEAH, SUGAR & WHITE CARBS TRIGGER A CHEMICAL THAT SIGNALS YOUR BODY TO STORE FAT ... PROTEIN, ON THE OTHER HAND, TRIGGERS A CHEMICAL THAT SIGNALS YOUR BODY TO USE FAT FOR ENERGY (thus, you lose weight)! COOL, HUH? GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

My surgery is in a few weeks and I am so afraid to dump. I have told myself I am not going to try ANY sugar !!! I do not barf gracefully, and from the way it is described, I DO NOT want to experience it. That is one of the few things that scare me about having the procedure. I am trying to learn so much now from all of you that have been there. I guess there will be somethings that I will just have to experience myself. Sugar and soda is poision!!!! I am soooooooo excited, it's getting closer. Deb G

Hi Deb I was worried about it too, before surgery. I am a major vomitphobe!! I will tell you, I am 6 1/2 months post op now, and I have not vomited once. Everyone's experience is so different, you will just have to wait and see how your's goes! It will be a wonderful journey! Blessings, Elizabeth
