New Post about Plastics
Hey Guys,
Sorry, my hand is tired of typing and I am VERY SORE and tired from my trip today. 1.5 hrs sitting at the border and then 1.5 hrs in the car driving home.
I am just going to post a copy of a post from www.plasticsurgeryjourneys.com so I don't have to re-type it.
Love you!!
Deb

If you are looking for a great recovery house in TJ Mexico, I stayed at Hacienda Mariposa.
Here is a post I posted earlier on www.plasticsurgeryjourneys.com I just wanted to share the info and instead of re-posting, here is the email I sent in response to a question from someone.
Take care,
Deb
I personally had a great experience in TJ and I am grateful that I went to him (Dr Fuentes) instead because the other surgeon wanted to cut me straight down the middle and I would now have a huge incision down my middle. Dr Fuentes said he could hide it in my breasts if I still had skin, but now after my LBL, I don't have the extra skin.
Airfare, from where??? Probably $300 at the most to San Diego, but I have seen Southwest for $99 each way and less.
Hotel is more than you would pay if you stayed at the recovery house, www.haciendamariposa.net AMY's is what most people call it. She is an American who owns a home there, and it is really nice with an AWESOME staff. Your mom can stay for free, just pay $20 extra I think, per day for food.
I tipped the girls and Francisco who is the driver. He went one time and picked up a prescription for me and filled it and I just reimbursed him the cost. I had a yeast infection from the antibiotics.
The prices include all your food, free internet, snacks, round the clock care, all transportation and the staff, I can't say enough about them. I was going to stay at the hotel, but the house is sooo nice and much better than if I was alone in a hotel room with just room service, and by the time you pay for your food, and cabs, you are at the price for the house.
Semi private room, meaning your bathroom might be down the hall, but not far, and its not like you think, $100 per night if you share with another patient.
But you don' t pay for the first night you get there, and you don't pay for the night you spend the night at the hospital or clinic, so then its more like $75 a day. If you want a private room, you will have your own bath and most rooms have 2 double beds in them or a double and a single. They can change the beds around.
The house is like 8000 sqft, and each room has a dvd player and tv. and all the food is freshly prepared and very healthy and good for healing. Lots of protein and bottled water and the house has its own separate purification system and is safe to drink. I use the ice from the fridge, and I brought Propel pkgs with me because they have electrolytes.
I think you would be much, much, much cheaper than the states. My quote for just the LBL, I was going to pay $40k. SO I paid $5,400 for my LBL and then maybe $500 for my stay at the Hacienda recovery house, and I tipped them $30 each when I left and $30 for my script while I was there. It was really worth it. She will even serve you in bed if you don't or can't go downstairs. Amy just ordered 3 walkers to help getting in and out of bed and TV trays are there, and she will also have available 4x4 bandages for purchase at her cost on Monday. $1 each I think.
I brought my own meds with me, because my insurance will pay for it, and when I needed my bloodwork, I just asked my doc. I got copies of it and faxed to Dr Fuentes' office. www.CosMedclinic.com
I told her I was having the plastics done in Mexico, told her Dr. Fuentes' credentials and she was impressed. The aftercare is very good and its just like any doctor's office you have been to in the USA and the safety is extremely good, and they have a great track record. You can read about Dr. Fuentes in the New Beauty magazine that just came out. He has an article in there.
I told her (my PCP) I was staying at a private house in TJ and it is in the best area in TJ, the safest area, and one of the anesthesiologists lives next door. She came over one day to drop off a garment for someone and checked all of us for free and looked at our incisions.
Amy is going to negotiate for an RN to come by the house in the afternoons to do bandage checks and if someone has questions or needs help with dressings or drains, she will be there, on a tip basis. Amy can't pay or else she would have to have a hospital license, and its a legal thing.
So, if you have questions, email Amy at the www.haciendamariposa.net
