Hey Kathy, love the new picture

You look GREAT!! I can see the bones in your neck !!!! I've got to learn how to profile so I can post a picture, not that mine would be that good, but i was looking at a picture that my hubby took of me the night before my surgery, and I can tell a difference already. Maybe others can't, but I can. I'm down 33 pounds so far. This woman at work last week kinda pi$$ed me off. We were just talking about walking and exercise in general and I told her that I had walked everyday for the last 2 weeks on my lunch break and she said well good because you don't need to have that surgery and then just sit there and don't ever try to loose weight. I'm sure my jaw dropped open. I barely eat anything and I get out there and walk my butt off and she makes a comment like that to me. Just didn't sit well. She is one of these that is always on a diet and continues to gain, so maybe she is jealous. Anyway, didn't mean to vent on you. I do love your picture.

she looks great huh! and I SOOO feel you on the "Comments" .. even my own PAPA (who has the best genes there are and never gains weight) critisizes me when he sees me about "so do you eat right or are you just using the surgery to lose weight and gain it all back?" .. or if i GOD FORBID eat something "wrong" while were out for a family bday party (since thats the only time i ever see him) hes like "i thought you said you ate good food thats not good youre gonna be huge" im like OMG.. i wanna just smack him and tell him to shove it.. he has NO tact obviously and it drives me crazy. When he saw my dad last week(dad had surgery in nov) he said "yep just gotta stay away from all that food!" ok.. moron we got it, now SHUT UP! lol.. can u tell i got some anemosity (sp) for him?!?! so IGNORE THE PPL WHO BRING U DOWN THEYRE JUST JEALOUS.. or crazy one lol jen

I guess there are some of those people in every crowd. My mother-in-law is 81 years old so i try to overlook her, but that is how she is too. When I told her I was having the surgery she said "well you sure are fat, how much do you weigh" and i told her that me and my doctor knew so that was all that needed to know. Now instead of asking me how i'm doing, or how much have you lost, she will say "how much do you weigh now" and i always say "a little less than i did before". I feel like saying "Old woman I'm not gonna tell you so shut up about it", but I guess I would be divorced if I speak out loud what I'm really saying in my head !!

lol MIL's!!! I have two!!! one of them has no tact as well.. she doesnt MEAN to be harsh but she is.. before I had surgery my husband and I went to their house to cut down trees.. and i ripped part of my shirt on a limb pulling it through their yard. .and her daughter said "mom we probably have a shirt she can wear" and she said "are you kidding?! shes too big for our clothes!!!! dont insult her like that!!!" i said "actually i took her comment as a compliment!" .. and last time i went to see them she said "What size are those?" I said "14's" she said "Get out of my house you cant be smaller than me!" she was joking of course and i thought it was funny lol. jen

I think age has a alot to do with it. Like my grandma said "I don't know why you girls are so FAT. I've had 11 kids and look at me, I'm skinny."

Thanks. I think you can see the bones in my neck because my head is twisted. As far as the lady at work, you might want to toughen up your skin a little on that. You are going to get comments like that all the time. Most people don't realize that it DOES take effort to actually lose this weight, surgery or not. AND it will take this same effort to keep it off for years to come. Congratulations on the 33lbs! I am dying to see you! Do you think you can make the meeting tonight at Sabroso's? We haven't seen you since before surgery. Kathy

I would love to come, but i'm actually starting back on my part-time job tonight. I used to work 2 jobs all the time, but I haven't done that in over a year. I'll be working monday and tuesday from 6-10 in addition to my regular day job. Not sure how long i'll do it, just wanting to save a little extra money for vacation this summer. Maybe later we can organize a meeting for thursday or friday and get everyone together who has shown interest in a get-a-way to the beach and see who is serious about it and who is not. Any other night during the week will be good for me if anyone else wants to go out somewhere.

Your pic is really nice!! Don't you just wanna slap people who think we took the "easy way out"?? My dad thought that, but he reneged when he talked to me the other day. He said: "you know your mother and I did not support your surgery at first, but now it was the best thing you have ever done, and you have given up sooo much, and it definitely was not the easy way out"! That shocked me!! It was about the nicest thing my dad ever said to me!! You are doing sooo great!! Most people don't get it and are jealous because they don't weigh enough to have the surgery, and can't lose that 40 or 50 they have.... so they just look at you, me and others who did have the surgery and think we somehow took the easy way out. I think no matter what we can't do anything right, we are darned if we are fat, and if we are too skinny...."stop losing weight, you are too thin" and darned if we have to have special foods or whatever. Nothing we do will ever be "right" for those folks, so just blow them off. We did this for us any way, and we know what is best for our bodies. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK YOU SKINNY GIRL!!! Deb
