Where can I find a support group?

I am having my surgery on Jan 16 but have no idea where there is a support group by me. I live in Fort Mill SC. If anyone can help me out Id really appreciate it. Also I dont live far from Rock Hill so if I have to go there that will be fine also. Thanks for your help. Denise OH P.S. I have Dr Borhanian in Rock Hill if thats any help.

Denise, your doctor's office should be able to tell you if they sponsor a support group. You'll find lots of support here, but I know that is not the same as going to group. Good luck to you, this is something you won't regret.

Thanks Anita I have my pre opt appointment on Jan 9th and also to see my surgeon on that same day so I will ask him then. Im trying to write down eveything I want to ask him and hoping I dont forget anything. How are you doing on your journey? I noticed you had your wls in Oct. How did it go? I hope your doing great and things are working out like you hoped they would. It wont be long and I will be on the loosing side with you too. I can hardly wait! Rock Hill is really upstate, yeah? You can find one by going to the main messageboard and I think there was a site from the main messageboard on starting an OH support group, or you can start one near you yourself like we all did back in Charleston, and just post on the boards. Maybe Yahoo groups and some other areas and just ask your doctor too. GOOD LUCK!!! Support helps. I don't go to a group out here, I am going to start, my doc out here in CA wants me to join, but I haven't been able to with all the surgeries I have had. Tell your doc you want to start one, and I bet you can post from their office and recruit people. Blessings! Deb
