Hello friends, Tomorrow is my surgery and I have a ton of emotions going on all at once. Thanks to all of you who have inspired me, educated me, and pushed me when I needed it. I'll be sure to return the favors throughout my journey for others who are coming behind me. I'm packing myself a small overnight bag to take to the hospital. Did you all take your vitamins with you or did they give you some at the hospital? I really, really want to take my cellphone too, do you think that's ok? My cellphone is also my MP3 player with all my favorite songs that I can listen to while I walk the halls. I packed, robes, slippers, chapstick, under clothes, lotion, soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste, and socks. Is there anything else I should consider taking? Can you tell I am nervous? Good grief, I just want to slap myself and say "snap out of it". Help!?! Robin

I am excited for you. Keep that bed warm, it shouldn't be too long and prayerfully, I'll be right behind you. Looks like you're packed and ready. I'll be saying a prayer for you and I know you'll be okay. Deb G

Sounds like you have everything coverd. They don't mind cellphones or mp3s in the rooms. my husband even brought a portable dvd player and dvd's for the time when I was sedated. chapstick was very important and you might want to take a pillow for the ride home. I wish you good luck and great blessings and a speedy recovery.

It sounds like you have things covered. Cellphones are OK. I took mine to have the phone numbers I needed for calling people. I mainly sat and watched TV and slept. You will not need your vitamins. They do not give you any but you do not have to take them until you get home. If you can make it to LCBB tonight at least for a few minutes, come. It will be a calming force, just me. I went to the MUSC meeting the night before my surgery and felt so much better afterwards. Make sure what you wear to the hospital is something you can wear home or pack some of your pants and/or skirts that stretch, elastic band pants and/or skirts would be the best. You are going to be so bloated that trying to sqeeze into some thing that you have to button will not be comfortable. Dont be nervous you are in the best of hands both surgery wise and spiritually. Relax and dont forget to have some of your favorite things tonight that you probably will not be able to have after tomorrow. I had a reeses peanut butter cup and a creme egg. My surgery was close to Easter. My thoughts and prayers are will you. Hugs Julie

Hello, my friend! At this writing, you are probably in surgery or pretty darn close. My heart is with you, my prayers are going straight upstairs! I know you're nervous, but you are in the best hands possible - God's. And He is guiding Dr. Byrne... Know how much I love you (as does everyone who has the pleasure of knowing you...) and I will see you Saturday! You have a great following - namely, Becca and me - so don't keep that bed long! Get up, get going, get losing! And before you know it - Victoria Secrets - HERE WE COME!
