Aetna POS

Did anyone have a hard time getting approval from Aetna insurance for LAP Band surgery?

I had Aetna POS but I did not have the lap band. I had lap RNY an dAetna approved me in 48 hours! They are great as long as you do everything they ask for. Good luck, I wish you the best! Jodie

I had the same experience with Aetna as Jodie. I was approved in no time after my doctor's office submitted everything they asked for. My doctor's office was very well aware of what the insurance required and really had their duck in a row. I was approved in less than 12 hours once they received the packet. Aetna even called to tell me I had been approved. However, I caution you to MAKE sure that you have coverage. Make sure there is no exclusion in your policy. I found out that just because you have aetna doesn't mean it is covered. IT depends on what the deal is that your company has with Aetna. My hubby worked for Suntrust and they had an awesome agreement with Aetna that covered WLS. I wish you the best. Rachel
