Greenville/Spartanburg area programs
Hello,
I am reposting here, my original post was on the main board.
I'm new to the boards and I am actively seeking a doctor to perform my surgery. Beginning 1/1/07 I will be on Cigna and my jobs plan allows for weight loss surgery. I'm trying to find a program that will assist with the 6 month weight loss program and will guide me in the right direction. I've heard about a $2500 registration fee but I'm wondering what that's for? My insurance says my visits should be $35 per visit for the surgean and $25 for a PCP, can anyone direct me where to look? I would like to have my surgery in July of '07 as that will give me time to heal from having my baby.
Happy New Year
Hey Karen!
Happy New Year!!!
I had a VERY good experience with Cigna (my insurance was approved Christmas week a year ago) and with Dr. Ross in Spartanburg. There is not a registration fee with Dr. Ross, and you have him and everybody associated with the Spartanburg Regional Weight Loss Program at your disposal for life. You can call Dianne Smith, who is the program coordinator, at 560-6935 with any questions or further details that you need. The first thing that they will do is have you come to a Community Lecture. They will answer any questions that you might have. I have been very pleased with their entire program. Give her a call and keep us posted on your journey!!
Hugs,
Dianne

Hey Karen!
Congrats on getting insurance to cover WLS. That is such a relief. I chose Dr. Bour in Greenville. He has a $2500 registration fee but that includes all your nutritionist visits for life (as many times as you need to see them), all your visits with the Psychologist for life, and all the support groups, cooking classes, etc that you can possibly handle FOR LIFE!!! I chose Dr. Bour because his pre-op program fit my insurance requirements. Also, Dr. Bour is one of the tops in the field!!! He is a very good surgeon and very cautious. They have a informational meeting several times a month. You can call Lacy at Bariatric Solutions for more information. Not sure of the number but they have a website. www.bariatricsolutions.com I wish you the best in your journey. Ask all the questions that you have on here. Everyone is wonderful. We also have a support group that meets at a resturant in G'ville after Dr. Bour's support group meeting. It is on Monday night. It is great way for you to meet other that have had the surgery and ask all the questions. Just stay tuned to this website and you will see when we are planning it. Probably next monday. Take care.
Rachel
