iron question

Hello Friends....I have an iron supplement question. I can only afford Walmart iron pills. I saw one that was chewable ??Ferrous?? does that sound right or do the pills make you sick. Hi Joan! The ones that I take aren't chewable, but they're small -- about the size of an aspirin pill. I don't know if those will work for you or not; I get them at Kroger (they're the Kroger brand) but since they're Kroger they're probably also available in Wal-Mart versions. Now, iron supplements of all kinds really upset my mom's stomach and give her diarrhea, and I think they're responsible for the softer than normal stools I have, but they don't make me sick. I think it all boils down to trial and error. I wish I'd known, I could have given you some of mine to try! Good luck and a VERY Merry Christmas to you! Lisa

hey, Hope its not too late, but I just chewed up mine. I think the walmart Fe is fine I have some samples, Bariatric Advantage, and the doctor told me today that I looked pale, so I decided to take some extra iron. Just remember to get some colace to go with it. It will clog you up and the colace will help you!! I think if you don't take it on an empty stomach and also use colace (stool softener) you will be fine!! Love you!!! In Jesus' Name Deborah
