OK.. since I can no longer swallow my Prozac caplet.. (or as my husband refers to my Anti-BIOTCH pill).......I had attempted to open the caplet and sprinkle the contents into a few spoonfuls of applesauce or jello or something.. but the bitter taste was SO HORRIBLE.. I just couldn't do it.. so I called my family Dr and he switched me to the liquid form... This morning was my first day of taking the liquid... all I can say to this is... OMG The crap is so nasty.. I spent my entire drive to work hoping I wasn't going to puke in my car... The taste is almost as bad as the crap they make you drink the day after surgery for the leak test... What can I do? It's the holiday's my house is going to be full of family and kids..... and I don't want to murder anyone.. so I need to take SOMETHING... Anyone have any suggestions?

Call your surgeon. See if it is ok to swallow it in the pill form. I was able to take my Prozac pill almost immediately after my leak test was done - while I was in the hospital. All my meds are in pill form, except for the vitamins, which they still prefer I take chewables. Find out soon, becasue there will come a time when you REALLY need those "anti-biotch" pills. Those hormones with the weight loss will get you! Kathy

I, too, took Prozac capsules while still in the hospital after my surgery -- it wasn't then and hasn't since been a problem for me. Lisa

No problems? The capsule doesn't get stuck anywhere? These are 40mgs.. how big are yours?

Mine are 20 mgs, but they're about the same size as the 40 mgs, I think. They didn't get stuck anywhere, not from the beginning. I think capsules are different from pills -- if they get stuck, the gelatin dissolves and thus gets unstuck on it's own without you even realizing it. I just haven't had any problems at all. Call your surgeon, and see what he says! Lisa

I took my anti depressants right after my leak test too. The only problem I have is that I take 2 pills. They are pretty large. When I take them together I feel a little sick for a few minutes but then it passes. I wonder why you can't handle your pills. I could call your doctor. Rachel

Try taking it with yogurt or a sugar free pudding instead of water. It helped me, and I'm on the BIG dose of Zoloft

LOL Stephanie!! I took Wellbutrin after surgery because it controled my cravings. Try to go back to the pill, and use lots of liquid when you take it. The liquid stuff is awful. I eat a saltine cracker with my pills to get them down and drink sips of propel between. Its tough, but you can do it if you don't think abou it. The wellbutrin I could break in 1/2. I am sorry, but try the crackers or a tiny bit of pnut butter or some SF pudding with lots of splenda, and see if that will work. You are going to be fine, and I don't think I will be seeing you on CNN Merry Christmas!! Deb
