With Christmas being bad for my family, my son asked me if I would post this for him.... He would like all that can to buy 1 toy and give it to the toys for tots or pick an angle off the angel trees that you see in the malls..... He read the post that Andi posted to me about his christmas and he said he would feel better to know that a smaller child had atleast one gift this year.... So if you're in a spot that you can do this would you please donate to toys for tots or do the angel tree giving this year .... Thank you so much Happy Holidays Stephie & Stephen (son) PS if you have already done this please take a great big Thank You and a hug from us

Good morning Stephie, :wave" Tell your son I'm proud of him fo asking this of us. What a big heart he has! Let him know WE DID do this on Sat. Our church First Baptist Spartanburg, took on the needy children that we were told about through the teachers at some of the school. The members that wanted to help with this, "adopt a needy child" find out their neds and wants and we are all asked to soend $70 per child on toys and or needs such as a coat, bik, etc. we then wrap the gifts, put in a large bag with the childs name on it, take it to the church and put under the giant Christmas tree. After we leave our gifts, we are given a box with a ham, veggies, fruit, etc. to give to the parents of the child we have adopted, we take the box and head to our childs home to give the goodies to the parents and pick up the child to bring back to our church to spend the day with. when we get back to the church, first thing we do is get in line to see Santa and have their picture made with him, then we head to the gym where all the tables have been set up with Christmas clothes, Christmas decorations, red & Green ballons, and plates of food are set at the table for us and our child, The pastor leads us all in prayer, then we all eat, next a GIANT BIRTHDAY CAKE is brought out, candles and all and we sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JESUS! Then we all enjoy birthday cake. Next we head across the street to the church youth center and the youth leader leads us all in Christmas songs from Hear comes Santa Claus" to "Silent Night" The kids have a ball, THEN they all sit down and watch a play, about the story of Jesus, and they watch the Santa that they had sit in his lap earlier, walk ovr to the baby Jsus in the manger, kneal down and take his hat off and pray to his Lord Jesus. Next, he kids get to open their gifts, oh my goodness!! you have never in your life seen so many toys, gifts, and Christmas paper everywhere then when over 200 children are opening their gifts at the same time! It was a sight to be hold!! Then we gather the toys and our child and take them back home to their families! This starts around around 9:30am and we have them home by 2:30. It's an awesome experience! Y'all are welcome to help next year if you want. God bless an Merry CHRISTmas!! Love, Debra
