Just wanted to let you all know I went for a post op visit on Monday and Dr. Young said all was well, but he is concerned about my fluid build-up. I go back to see him next week and if it is worse or not better he is going to aspirate some of the fluid. I am ready to know how much I weigh without all the fluid, but I officially hit 150lbs gone forever on Tuesday. I can't tell you how excited I am. However back to the fluid, I have started wearing my brace again and it is starting to irritate my skin terribly. I have gone back to work and I get so tired so fast. I am good until around 2pm, but I force myself to stay here until 4pm atleast. Then I go home and crash on the couch, so I am not sure if I will be at LCBB on Thursday or not. Thats it for my update. Britt, I am having the same problem with fluid. I had my drains in for two weeks, but still have a "pouch" of fluid. I am going in tomorrow am to get it aspirated. I got a support girdle from another physicians office. They also said that Belk's carries them, they are the one that go over your stomach up to your chest. It is much more comfortable and more supportive than the brace. Talk to you later. Thanks for the email, I'm better Mary

Hope you're feelin' much, much better after they relieved the fluid issue. Oh my gosh, I'd be yanking those drains out myself if I had to have them in for 2 weeks ... I had mine in after gastric bypass for 4 days & thought I'd go bonkers. God bless you ... Dawn & Nick

Hey Guys, That is called a Seroma. That is one thing I DON'T WANT!! You need to take some Arnica Montana, and it will help with the fluid and swelling. I don't know about a brace, but if you go to www.makemeheal.com they sell the arnica as sinecch I think is how you spell it, and also garments. I have to get some Arnica too, and I haven't done that yet. Eat a lot of fresh pineapple for the bromelain. That will help with swelling too, and also up your Vita C. The Seroma comes from not having in your drains long enough, and that is my main concern....to make sure I don't yank them out by mistake or too early. Also, you are doing too much and need to rest with feet up So, drink lots of fluid....water, and also get some Arnica...the cream won't work, it has to be the pills you put under your tongue. I go down to Mexico on Monday and I will post from there as I am able, and as I feel well. See ya later, and get some rest. Put on a good garment and wear it for at least 6 weeks. They told us to get some extra large t shirts and to wear them under our garments so they won't pinch our skin. Love ya!! Deb

Oh Deb you are so right. I had my drain in for 17 days, then did great. I was feeling so well that I though it would be just fine to help paint my kitchen. Bad idea. Instant seroma. He drained out 250 ccs. Good luck next week, I will be saying lots of prayers and sending lots of love Mary
