Ok, I just had my first barf since my surgery. I ate a piece of cheese and toast way too fast while sitting here reading the paper. I realized it wasn't gonna sit well with me, so I ran up to the bathroom and had to throw it up. I did not chew it up well at all. Anyway, after all the food came up, then there was a little bit of blood that came up next. Anyone ever done this??? Should I be scared??? I seem to be fine now, not hurting or anything. Think I ruptured a small blood vessel?

I did this at around 6 weeks out. I called my surgeon. You should call yours just in case. I got nauseated from a peice of chicken that was too fatty. My Dr. said I probably irritated my stomach lining when I was retching. He also recommended that if I stayed nauseous, I should take my anti nausea medication to keep from barfing again. Your pouch is brand new and tender. Take care of it! CHEW CHEW CHEW..and then chew some more. Anytime I've barfed since surgery is because I was eating too fast and got something stuck. Definitely call your doctor if it continues. Better safe than sorry and anyway, thats why they make the big $$$$. Kathy

Thanks kathy. That is just a scary sight to see blood coming up. I'm gonna call my doctor just to be on the safe side, but figure this is something caused from my lack of chewing. I've really got to work on that.

Our Dr does not reccommend bread at all, maybe the toast was too much for you! Let me know what the outcome was? Good luck Patti
