What about coverage

Hi, was just wondering if anyone has heard of Carolina Care Plan covering bariatric surgery?

It depends on the employer. You can have 2 employers with the same insurance company (ie, Blue Cross) and one will cover it while the other won't. Talk to your HR rep at work if you're not sure as they are also the same people you'd have to convince to change the policy to add the coverage if they don't cover it already.

CCP excludes WLS from any of their policies from the last time I talked to one of their provider reps. Now this has been atleast a year ago that I talked to them, but the best way to find out is just call them or read your policy. Britt

It is always best to call and ask for a written copy of their Bariatric policy. Then check with your employer to see if they have any specific exclusions to the plan they have with CCP. Best of luck to you! ~Elizabeth
