Stupid comment!!
Let me tell you..my husband just said the most bone headed comment.
He said to me tonight when I am celebrating my almost 40lb loss from my highest weight "you would think I could tell a lot more since you lost 40lbs. That is a lot of weight!!" Talk about being ripped from a high down to the lowest point possible in a second.
Also, this weekend when we went to the USC game, my mom asked me if it was easier for me to walk up the ramp at the game. He said "well, she still got winded!!!" I was so pissed. I thought I had done better walking up the ramp but apparently it wasn't good enough for him!!!
He says he is just making "observations." Whatever!!! Then he wonders why I don't wanta give him any!!

Don't let it get to you. I hear most hubbys get nervous when they see their women losing weight....its called INSECURITY!! The most divorces happen after WLS, so please don't be a statistic.
I am so happy my honey never said anything like that. My parents are here...if you knew me well, and all my family issues that I had to deal with over the years....you would understand. Anyway my dad said to me the other day as I was getting out of the hot tub, he said....if you would start working out, your skin would tone up and stick back to your body!!!
Uh, can't happen....skin can't get toned up, but there is no explaining. Of course, I do need to work out, but that is not the comment he was making!
My parents my whole life...I can never be good enough or match up to their standards, nothing is ever good enough....so whether it is parents or husbands, gotta just do what is right for you, and let it roll off your back. Its just their insecurity and trying to say something, but not knowing what to say.
Tell your hubby that you want his support, not criticism, as you are working on it and if he expects you to be 100% in 1 month, then he needs to think again. Aren't you better than you were 1 yr ago?? That is what counts......You are right to be upset though! I would be, my hubby might have lost a tooth or gotten a slap across his face if he said that to me!!
I love you!
Deb

Deb's right, it is insecurity. Don't let it get to you at all! (I know, so much easier said than done!) As for the getting winded -- point out that you have MAJOR SURGERY in October, and you're still recovering from it! OF COURSE you got winded!
Geez. Spouses can be such idiots at times!
*hugs*

Its harder for people who see us everyday to notice. It took my husband a REALLY long time to notice. He's only RECENTLY been making comments and I am over 80 pounds down!
Don't let it bother you. It will all come with time. If not, the next time he makes a comment like that - just kick him in the nads. He'll learn to keep his thoughts to himself.
Just remember, WE are proud of you and YOU should be proud of yourself too. He has no idea what it was like to be in your body. So he won't feel the difference like you do. The way you feel is what matters the most.
