Thanksgiving plans?
What plans does everyone have for Thanksgiving? Are you hosting? Are you planning a special WLS friendly meal, or bringing something that you can eat?
My inlaws are coming over to our home. I have planned that the meal not be HUGE like usual. I am making everything friendly to my eating needs without making others feel like they are doing without.
We are having turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, squash casserole, cranberry sauce, and black olives. I told my mil to make a dessert for everyone else, and I am going to make a sugar free one that I can eat. I still haven't decided on what dessert...whether it will be chocolate or pumpkin.
What is everyone else planning for Thanksgiving dinner?? Enquiring minds want to know! LOL
Hugs,
Elizabeth

My angel ... I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday! I will be going to Piegon Forge to my in-laws... They have a house atop Bluff Mountain..I love it there.. the deck over looks the strip and on Firday Morning.... I'll be sipping coffee from the deck.. watching all the fools...errrrrr I mean all the shoppers at the outlet malls...No word yet on a surgery date... I knew things were running far to smoothly for it to work out for ME... I'll let you know when I hear something... AGAIN.. have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!!

Its just me, my hubby and daughter this year.
I'm making turkey, dressing, a plain veggie and cranberry sauce. We are gonna have tons of leftovers. If my hubby wasn't such a dark meat fiend, I would have just bought a turkey breast only. I'll probably eat a bit of everything...except for cranberry sauce YUCK! Teagan is going through this stage where she refuses to eat meat, unless it is breaded or a hamburger patty. So I'm looking forward to days of turkey salad, turkey soup, turkey tetrazzini, etc.
Lucky for me hubby and daughter don't care if a desert is SF or not. So IF I make one, it will definitely be sugar free.
Hope everyone has a great holiday!
Kathy

I'm going to my in laws house. All will eat and eat until they are sick...but not me...LOL!! Friday, DH and I are leaving to go to Myrtle Beach for the weekend. I'm so excited. Guess what I have to bring to the meal...DESSERT!!! What kind of punishment is that. I'm buying something already made and something I don't really like!!

I'm having everyone at my house this year. My brother is in service, and he is getting a 4 day leave, so i'll have about 20 folks at my house. I have a couple people bringing a dish, but it will mostly be up to me for most of the meal. I'm doing turkey, dressing, gravy, potato salad and green beans. Think I'll try a splenda sweet potato pie. My sis-in-law is doing the "real" dessert for everyone else. I plan on taking a bite of almost everything.
My mama and daddy flew out here to CA and tomorrow we are doing the Tonight Show and we are doing a turkey...duh
and dressing, broccoli casserole, green bean casserole and black eyed peas. We are also having St. Paul's rice....it is a family tradition, really good. I don't eat but a bite of everything, concentrating on the turkey. I love squash casserole, but I would be the only one who eats it, so I won't make it.
I already made pound cake, had a teeny taste, not even a big bite. I made German Choc. cake for my sons, and assorted cookies. I also will make a SF pumpkin trifle, posted on my webpage and pumpkin pies for my sons, and pecan pie for my dad!! WHew!! Lots of cooking for me!!
It will be fun, and I plan to freeze lots of food for Christmas since I will be having plastics, and I won't be able to cook for Christmas.
I will also have sweet potatoes that we can eat, but I don't like them, and of course some ambrosia, I can eat.
Happy Thanksgiving!! Lots of good food, good family....but like last year, just a tiny bite of everything, and I probably can't even eat all that, and not even able to taste it all
Deb
