I think I might be having some "healing pains" or something. I'm 3 weeks post op, the last couple of days i've noticed a little twinge here and there in my stomach, kinda like a nerve or something. I've been fortunate so far and havent had any pain after surgery, so I guess this is normal? I have a follow up appt this Wednesday, but wanted to run it by you guys first to see if you had this too. Today is my first day of soft foods. Had a scrambled egg for breakfast with 1/2 slice wheat toast. Could not eat all of it, i got full in a hurry. Nice to taste real food again, but I'm almost scared to eat, don't want to hurt anything.

I think the twinges are normal. Hope your followup goes well! I eat eggs a lot...I like them poached on a slice of wheat toast...poached seems to be the easiest way to get them down. Congrats on your successful surgery!! Glad to see you are doing so well! Hugs, Elizabeth

I remeber the twinges too. I thought they may have been some sort of gas pains since I kind of felt them all over my stomach area, not just near my pouch. Be sure to ask doc about it just in case. I eat eggs EVERY morning now. I couldn't eat scrambled for a while though. They always got stuck. So I always ate them over medium. I can eat them any way I want now. Actually I can eat pretty much anything...except bread. I've gotten so used to not having it, I don't even miss the toast with my breakfast anymore. I'm glad to hear you are otherwise doing well. Hope to see you at the next upstate meeting...whenever that will be! Kathy

More than likely your just having the normal pains that come with healing. I am 3 weeks post-op too and I still have some burning, stinging, type pains mostly in the area around where my drain was. the hole is still open and draining so that hasn't completely healed up yet. I still get some stinging pains where the other lap wounds are, but they had internal dissolvable stiches, so it's probably everything healing up there. I also noticed where all of the incisions are my belly is starting to look really ugly cause it is sinking in at all of the cut areas, especially where the drain was My entire left side looks like someone suctioned out all the fat in that area and my belly is lopsided bad. I can't wait to eat an egg, I hope it all agrees with me, lol. Sounds like you are doing great and can't wait to see you again at one of our upstate meetings. Hugs! Mary
