Ok, starting to get a little irritated!
And I see I'm not the only one stuck in a loss rut! I've lost 3 lbs in the last three weeks, and I keep bouncing back and forth between the same 3 lbs!! After one week, I thought...ok, this is normal. After the second week, I thought...still normal, but getting frustrated. Now, this is week three. I am getting really frustrated! I wanted to get down to 220 by Christmas, and it is NOT going to happen the way this month is going! I get so worried that I won't get near my goal of 180...or even close. That I will be 6 months out on Dec. 20th, and that will be about it...only a few lbs lost a month after that. I don't want to be in the 200's forever!!
Ok...calming down now. lol But I am frustrated! Any encouraging thoughts?? How did those of you who are 6+ months post op lose in the last half of your first year? Did you continue to have good losses after 6mo. post op?
TIA!
Elizabeth
Hey Elizabeth,
I feel your pain. At 6 months, I had lost around 86 pounds. Now at almost 10 months, I have lost 103 pounds (and finally got into Onderland). So, in about 4 months, I have lost 17 pounds....and for 2 of those months, I didn't lose anything (and NOTHING changed in my lifestyle or eating habits). But after 2 months of trying to figure out what I did (which was probably nothing, just my body getting used to it's new self!!), I can say that exercise and water are key. I read somewhere that as your are losing weight, the fat in your body will slowly liquify. You need to drink adequate amounts of water for your body to absorb the liquified fat and flu**** out of your body (or something like that). Anyway, when I bumped up both of those, the scales finally moved again. I even lost weight when I went on my cruise in October!!!
So....hang in there. Don't cut back on your eating, just get as much water in as you can and don't forget to move!!
Hugs,
Dianne
