2 weeks from surgery/Twin Sister 600 pounds needs desprate help
I'm soon to be 2 weeks from surgery. The first week was very rough going...I regreted the entire procedure. I hated myself for a a few days, mad at myself for not trying harder to get the weight off and having to come to this procedure to help me.
(it's amazing how you can't seem to remember all the hard time you suffered and tried getting the weight off, the exerices, the sacarfices you made, all the money you spent on all the diets and all you got in return was a few lost pounds and the all the lost pounds plus more being added on in no time.
I tried it all and couldn't lose a pound.) And now here I am in amazement that 2 weeks after this surgery I am already down 15 pounds. I had to call my husband to check the scale (stupid, I have a digital scale) haha . I'm not hungry, as a matter of fact I can barely do 3 meals a day vs the 8 they want you to. I tried 6 meals one day and was sick as could be....I'm eating minute amounts of food, but totally stuffed.
It's like a dream....each morning I woke up the past week I weighed just to check it out, each day I was down 2 to 3 pounds......I can't comprehend this, but it works.
I said I would not recommend this surgery to anyone, Now I have to recant...as with any surgery, it is always worst before you get better.
I have a twin sister, probably weighing near 600 (no joke, no exgaggeration)(can't spell) she is in awful shape her doc is trying to get her to do a lap band...???? I'm shocked, a lap band at her size...is it even possible? and Who would do it....right now she has pickwickin's disease (I beleive something to do with her lungs not having room to expand) and I believe she is in the last stages of it. She is on 100% o2 and care barely go frrom her bed to the bathroom. She is on steriods to help her breath as well and some kind of shots she is being given. I know she can't live like this much longer. Does anyone know or have known anyone her size getting this surgery and surving with her problems.?????? She really needs help bad!
gosh I know how you feel my mom is over 400lbs & she had a pace maker in & now has alot of meds but the dr told her she could not have surgery at all she can not be put to sleep for any mount of time & she is on oxygen also she lives in another state that is why I have not told her I had the surgery because my heart goes out to all ppl in that shape, good luck & hope it works out with your sis also

My goodness Linda, this must be so hard on you to want to feel happy about your weight loss but not want to feel like you are throwing it in your sisters face. I can only tell you to encourage your sister to get a second, third, or 100th opinion about the surgery. Find out all you can about people her size having it done. Post it on the main board and I promise you'll hear back from someone. I hadn't heard anyone with a pacemaker having it done (I have a pacemaker and I'm only 31), someone here advised me to post it on the main board and within hours I had several replys from people both with pacemakers and people who knew someone with a pacemaker who had it done. Tell your sister to start trying really hard now to save her life and as you get better try to encourage her and help her on this journey anyway that you can (I know you would do that anyway). I'll continue to pray for you both in the meantime. I'm so happy you are starting to feel better and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm still waiting for my surgery but I'm trying to stay focused. As I said on my blog on my profile "This too shall pass..." Keep your head up hun, GOD aint done using you yet!
