food question for some of you old timers

I've been looking over my soft food list, longing for the day that I can actually eat something that I can chew. I noticed that lettuce and bacon are on the "no-no" list. Does this mean forever??? Do any of you eat either of these? I like the microwave bacon that cooks up real crisp, not fatty, so I don't see where the problem would be with it. I know lettuce and cabbage are both hard to digest, but a life without salad? How terrible.

hi Anita! I am 15 months out now and I eat both lettuce and Bacon. I waited almost 8 months for both, but I love both now. Good Luck in your journey, hope all is well. Britt

I eat both...however, I think the biggest issue with lettuce is you get filled up on something that gives you zero nurtition. Before WLS that was great, now your nutrition is very important. You should be filling up in something that is good and provides protein & vitimans... --Kelly
