Dumped?
Well, last night after I posted on here, the effects of the SF jello pudding really took its toll on me. I started out with just feeling a little nausea
, then within the hour after eating it, I had to go to bed. I started shaking, felt like I was at deaths door, and even after taking a large amount of immodium that morning and the day before, I still got my plumbing cleaned out and fast. Woosh! like a speeding bullet it hit me, and the floor, I know TMI! I haven't felt like that since I had the real flu years ago. So, I assume that is dumping. I will never let sugar alcohols cross my lips again. I'm scared to death to see what real sugar might do. I have tolerated small amounts like 2-3 grams but haven't tried more than that.
Today is the first day I have drank the Hanks protein powder. It tasted a lot better before surgery, it's the first thing that I have had that taste way to sweet to me now. I hope I can get use to it, if not I'm going to let someone that likes it have the 5 containers that I have. I also have 3 containers of Unjury. 2 unflavored and one of the strawbery sorbet. Anyone that might want it is more than welcome to it. I got this online so I can't return it to nutrition solutions. Just let me know if your interested in any of it. I guess I will need to find something else that I like.
Ok, I'm outta here! BTW, I weighed 218.5 on my scale this morning!

You said you were already sensitive to sugar alcohols...
You are going to be a BAD dumper.
Be careful when you start trying fruits and other natural sugars. I think eventually it will get better when you are farther out, but you may never tolerate refined sugar... Lucky B*tch!!
I can't wait to see you on Monday skinny lady. You are so little already, I'll bet we'll notice a huge difference.

Thanks for the encouraging words, LOL! It's not going to be fun trying to eat and having to worry about everything I put in my mouth. Food is loaded with hidden sugar, so I might be drinking water and prostat the rest of my life, LOL. I don't know if I'm lucky, I'm not too fond of crapping my brains out 5 or 6 times a day. I wonder now if the diarreah is even going to stop. I can't work like this, it comes on without any warning, I can stand up and oops there it is.
Oh well, hope to see you Monday, if anyone has any BIG corks. please bring them, LOL.

Well, I think the diarhea has alot to do with you being so early post op and trying new foods too. You are only a couple of weeks out. You won't be like that all the time. And once you get further out, there are tons of protien foods with little or no sugar in them. So you WILL not be on protien supplements forever.
But like I said, you will have to be extra careful. Trying new things in public is probably not a good idea. I tried a teeny tiny bite of the desert (barely enough to cover a fork prong) at the work thing I was at the other night and was blessed with stomach cramps and painful gas so bad I wanted to die. Unfortunately I was at the Poinsett Club in a room full of VP's and just when it got to its worst, I had to walk up in front of everyone. UGH.... Don't be like me. I'll never learn my lesson.
But, if you are still feeling bad on Monday, let me know. I think I have some of those plastic underpants I used when I was potty training Teagan...
Love you girl! It will get better!

Mary...I am so sorry about that with the pudding.
I use Isopure Choc protein drink and it never bothers me and I like the taste. I never mix with milk because my tummy was sensitive to milk before surgery. Maybe someone that lives close to you could let you try a sample of theirs before you buy something else. Great on your weight loss!!!
It just gets better and better. AS of today I have lost 106lbs since April 25, 06.
God bless,
Joan M

hey,
That is the hank's that made you dump.....don't drink it. It made me dump too. Also, don't know if you knew this, but after I touted the taste and good things of Hanks, Dame Tooter did some research that Hanks is just not good, and when she inquired about his testing and also where it is manufactured so they could make sure the ingredients were pure, he got really mad and told her off, and basically told her it was none of her business. She explained to him her role with Obesity Help and he was just plain rude, so that being said.....he is not willing to give what is in his powders, and we really believe there is sugar in it, and it did make me dump everytime I drank it as well as others.
Also, with the puddings, the sugar alcohols and lactose in the milk is bad. I can do about 1/2 of a jello brand SF pudding, with protein powder added.
So, sorry to say, but stay away from Hanks, its the worst stuff on the market. Go get some Protein Delite from The Vitamin Shoppe and some "Any Whey" protein powder to mix in puddings and what not, its dissolvable and completely tasteless.
You will get the hang of it!!

Actually it wasn't the Hanks that made me dump, the dumping happend before I ever drank it. It all came from the SF pudding.I have never been able to tolerate sugar alcohols even before surgery and I didn't realize the pudding had them in it. I drank the Hank's yesterday and it didn't bother me, I just wasn't as crazy about the taste as I was before my surgery. I haven't had much of an appetite since starting on the full liquids, nothing appeals to me right now. I hope this ends soon too. I'm still doing good on the prostat so I will at least be getting my protein in.
Take care!
