How to Lose Post Op Fluid???

Okay, Today I still am carrying 2 pounds of post op fluid. Yes, I am still swollen and I can tell that I am I wish I could pee it out in a hurry, I am trying to!! Its hard though. I am drinking more and up walking around when I can....but not enough, and now I am still holding onto the 2lbs of fluid. How long does it take that fluid to come through?? They screwed up my IV's so many times that my arms look like a black and blue pin cushions, and I have popeye arms cause they are so swollen in weird areas, like below my elbows where the last IV went because everywhere else blew. Well, I also saw today my incisions and there are staples everywhere!!!! YUCKY!! NO WONDER THEY STILL HURT!! I thought I felt something pulling and burning and no wonder they were hurting!!! Oh well!! I have a lady, her name is Gracia, coming to stay with me tomorrow so I won't be alone when Tommy is gone on his trip flying. Miss you guys!!! Deb

Sorry Deborah I don't have any fluid knowledge to give ya but I am praying that you get better soon. I am glad you have someone to stay with you. I know you must need some help right now. Get better soon and get plenty of . Take care... Pam

Deb, Just try to keep mobile, that will move the fluid and as crazy as it sounds drink lot's of fluid ...it helps pull the excess fluid from the tissues. It will go away soon, In the meantime I hope you feel better and this is your final "hiccup" Take care Lesley

Hey Deborah ... I haven't been keeping up on the forum as I once did.... (guess ya might have noticed...haha !) Anyways I will be keeping you in my prayers that all will heal quickly and that you'll be feeling fantastic in no time. You are a beautiful girl and now you will be even more beautiful....outside matching the inside. Just know that no matter how far you move away you are always close to my heart.
