The Stress Of PS
Hey Mary,
I really don't want to say anything because I know you and Towana and Britty are having surgery from Weidenhouse, and I have kept my mouth shut, but I really have not been impressed by his work at all.
He is the one Tricare refers everyone to, and I have personally seen his work several times, and thought it was awful. My cousin went to him and he did her breast reduction and she followed everything he told her to by the books and her incisions split open because (she got a new PS in FLA) of lack of proper stitching and he took off too much skin in one part, and pulled it too tight, or lack of doing a proper procedure.
There is also another girl on the boards who had surgery by him a few years ago, and she had to pay $24,000 to have all her surgery re-done in 3 separate surgeries.
I also had another good good friend who had a breast reduction and tummy tuck, and her breast reduction is terrible looking. He did not take out enough fat in one breast, and the incisions are sloppy and her tummy tuck should have been extended or a lower body lift, but he did not or would not do them.
I hear he is fantastic with bedside manner and makes everyone feel confident. My aunt, who went with my cousin to her appointments with my niece said she loved him in person and thought he was a wonderful surgeon. When she had her followup appt, and took off the bandages, they asked him about the size of the scar, she said it was sooo big under her right breast, it looked like someone had cut her with a 4" wide blade, the incision should have only been as thin as a blade, not width!!
So, (my cousin's husband was in the Air Force and they were living in Charleston and had this done before her divorce). when she moved back to FLA, she went to another plastic surgeon and he will have to do a scar reduction and re-do the breast that he botched.
She even had called back to Dr. Weidenhouse's office several times complaining about bleeding, lots and lots of blood, not a little bit, and they were told it was normal. Well, she ended up going to the ER because my aunt made her, and the doc there said it was one of the worst jobs he had seen. She had to have the doc at the ER pack her incision with guaze and send her home until it healed, but she moved to FLA. The doc in FLA said that it was grounds for suing.
My other friend had similar experiences with her breasts, and more importantly, the tummy tuck was a total botch. He did not take off enough skin, and extend it far enough on the sides, and it left more skin hanging over scar, than her original skin.
I would not go to him if it were free. I feel really bad telling you guys this, but maybe its a blessing? Once you are approved however, I think you can take that approval to anyone to do the surgery or you.
I have heard good things about Dr. Kline, and Dr. Harvey. Those 2 would have been my choice for Charleston, and not sure who, but there is a doc in Greenville who is supposed to be really good. I had also heard about a guy in Columbia who was good, and of course there is the doc I am going to in December in Mexico.
I was thinking Mary, and Towana, that you guys might be better off with a Lower Body Lift, but should you need to pay cash, Mexico where I am going is the better route. It is only $5,000 for everything for the Lower Body Lift. I have spoken and emailed several people who are going as far as from Atlanta and the girl who will be there for her surgery the day after mine is from W. Virginia.
I feel so bad trashing your doc's and I had wanted to say something for a long time now, but have held back, but I just really want the best for you guys, and not to be unhappy with your results. If I had a million bucks to spend on anyone, I would still go to my doc in Mexico because I have seen and liked his work the best, and he is very conservative, won't risk your health over a procedure. He also is very kind and caring besides the point he is a great technical doc. Women from around the world come to him, and he has a great practice.
I would be more than happy to accompany anyone from back in Charleston to Mexico if you end up going that route.
I know this is a long post, and I really hate sticking my nose in this at all, but I was just so worried for you guys since I heard Ms. Britty and then Towana and now you Mary, that you guys were going to him.
Just do good research talk to past clients. I love you guys very much, and just want the best for you...i hope that comes across in this long post/reply
Love you lots!!

Hey Mary! I will keep my fingers crossed for you! I am actually seeing Dr. Young at Palmetto Plastics, I refused to see Widenhouse because of all the negative things I heard it scared me to death (but you will hear good and bad about all docs). I asked the ones I work for about Dr. Young and they all said good things, so I am comfortable with him.
Good Luck and best wishes!
