I found myself very calm but nervous all at the same time....it's like reality is starting to set in....I'm really gonna do this.....I'm really going to lose weight and be healthy again....I'm almost at shock......Because I have a St. Jude Mechanical Heart Valve and am on Coumadin, they have to take some precautions. So I will have to get off my coumadin 4 days before surgery, be admitted 2 days before surgery and get on Heparin and then stay about 4 to 5 days longer to get my blood back at a compliant level. I'm glad they are taking all these precautions, it does make me feel a little safer. Dr. Morgan was a sweetheart today....I did read all the paperwork and it was a lot, they cover all basis. No one can say they didn't know if something goes negative. But, I believe that God will be with me and will make sure there are no complications whatsoever....believe with me..... and I would love someone to be my angel....I don't have one yet! Linda

You are almost there! I remember the emotional roller coaster I was on and for me, it was the worst part. Hang in there, it is a ride and worth every bit. I would not mind being your angel, if you want. Hugs Julie

How wonderful that your surgeon is so thorough. That has to go a long way towards calming those pre-surgery jitters. You're in good hands! We're all so excited for you, Linda! Dawn

Linda...I am so happy for you...you are in the Lord's hands and He is more than able to keep you. I am glad your surgical team is very careful. You will be successful and will be able to see the woman you know is inside waiting to burst forth. I am so happy for you. In Christ, Joan M

Mike, that is so sweet, yes I got your messages but was tied up and couldn't reply just yet. You are moving to Park West, thats where Charlie lives, He lives in Arlington Subdivison. His email is [email protected] (I think that's right) ours is [email protected], that's for home and work. Everyone is doing fairly well, Charlie retired a couple years ago. Teddy is a minister and Pastor's a church over here West of the Ashley (St.Andrews Pentecostal Holiness Church) we are located off of Hwy61. You are so sweet, I can't believe in such a short time that you've lost so much weight, I just don't know what to think.....I am so excited about the weight to come off but a little nervous about eating the right things...I want to do this right, I don't want any complications at all. Anything you can tell me would be helpful. Thanks, Linda +

Believe me when I say that you won't be able to eat wrong, especially in the beginning ... Your pouch will make sure of that ... First off, you will only be able to eat a few bites, literally ... &, usually our pouches are very temperamental, so once you eat something that makes you dump, you won't try that again! Dumping is miserable. You'll do just fine, Ms Linda!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to worry! God bless you ... Dawn & Nick

DIDN'T I TELL YOU THAT DR MORGAN WAS A SWEETHEART? WE CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT THE ENTIRE GASTRIC BYPASS DEPARTMENT AT MUSC ... DID YOU KNOW THAT THE GASTRIC BYPASS DEPARTMENT BECAME A NATIONALLY CERTIFIED "CENTER OF EXCELLENCE" THIS YEAR? THEIR RESULTS ARE SO FAR ABOVE MOST FACILITIES THAT THEY WERE CERTIFIED!!!!! LET ME TELL YOU HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS ... SOME INSURANCE PROVIDERS WILL ONLY APPROVE CERTAIN SURGERIES, INCLUDING GASTRIC BYPASS, IF THEY ARE DONE IN A CENTER OF EXCELLENCE. WOW! YOU'RE IN THE BEST HANDS, GIRL!!!!!!!! WE'RE SOOOOOOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!! NICK & I ARE GOING OUT OF TOWN FOR SOME DOWN TIME RIGHT AFTER YOUR SURGERY SO I WOULDN'T BE AVAILABLE TO BE YOUR FULL-TIME ANGEL, BUT I'D BE HAPPY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS, ETC ... JUST E-MAIL ME! SOOOOOOOOO WHO IS GONNA BE MS LINDA'S ANGEL?????? GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICK
