PS My mom and dad were against this surgery as was a good friend from church, who the day before surgery told me I was making the biggest mistake in my life, and that I should do it naturally, and that God did not intend this for me!!!! Well, God DID intend this for me, I know I heard from Him as I prayed for 2 years before the surgery, and after my parents saw me doing so well, they are soo happy and jumped on board. I think people get jealous and are scared, but its mainly from lack of education. Now I have to have this hernia surgery stuff and my dad and mom are scared again, but I told them this was a complication and a risk I knew of well before surgery, so even though I have to do it, is it worth it??? YES!!! I would do it again, even with this upcoming surgery! PS, the hernia surgery means we lost so much fat around our intestines it creates space Who would have known?? Congrats!! Deb

My surgery is scheduled for Nov. 13th so I know what you mean. I can't believe in less than 3 weeks I will be on my way to becoming a new person on the outside. My daughter is good with it but I think my son is a little too young to understand (he's 7). My sister had gastric bypass last year and has lost about 140 lbs. I don't have that much to lose but I am looking forward to being a new person! How did your pre-op go? Mine is scheduled for the 31st. What do they do? Who is doing your surgery? Dr. Morgan is doing mine. I haven't met her because I planned on Dr. Byrne doing it but when they said he didn't have any openings until mid-December, I switched to Dr. Morgan. Good luck and God bless! Susan

Hi Susan, My pre-op was pretty good... First went to see the nurse, weigh in , get vitals, sign paperwork, look over paperwork, then Dr. Morgan came in , She is doing my surgery, talk to me for a little while, asked if I had any questions and she commented on the questions I asked..then signed more paperwork with her and then she left and the nurse practioner came in with the remainder of paperwork, chat for a short while, then went to the financial person and then down to pre-op workup... they took blood, did an EKG and you talk with the Anesthesiolgist (which I didn't because I'm being admitted 2 days prior to my surgery due to the blood thinner I'm on for my heart vavle) and that was the jest of it. I'm so anxious and now I'm finally realizing this is for real....reality is setting in and I'm nervous but excited all at the same time..... Remember me in your prayers....Dr. Morgan seems wonderful. Linda
