Okay, so they did cut the amount of dye contrast I had to drink, BUT when I mixed the barium at home...I got sooo sick!! Full of sugar!! So if you have to ever get a CT with contrast, just be sure to tell them besides the fact you are gastric bypass, you have to tell them to treat you like a diabetic!!! You would think.............don't get me started! Thank goodness I had 2 pkgs of crystal lite togo with me, cause all they had to mix in this clear bile crud was kool aid...duh, can't drink it, so I mixed my crystal lite with it. It was okay, but I got sooo sick sitting there and had to go to the bathroom several times and I was totally clean by the test, and nauseated....I told the guy do a good job, cause this is the first and last time. Glad that is over!! I met the gastric bypass surgeon here yesterday, Dr. Nyguen....pronounced Dr. Wynn. He is supposed to be some big celebrity type doc out here, and hard to get into, but my pcp went to med school with him and referred me in. He was tall, and cute, 1/2 Vietnamese and I think American, but could be wrong. Young, like my hubby's age, but nice, and arrogant...aren't all surgeons? Anyway, I go back tomorrow to find out the results of the test....not expecting anything. If there are adhesians, they will just do a quickie lap and burn them off, no problems and go right home. Love you guys! Deb

The nurse was the one telling me about him, and she showed me a picture of him in an article on the board....but I was hurrying to get out of there to get to the CT scan, and had been interviewed by the med student for like 1hr, so we were hurrying! I will talk to him more tomorrow. It was funny, cause they had just told me I had an appt. with gastro, never knew it was a bypass doctor until the nurse was asking me about my weightloss, and so forth. LOL He was a little bit of a "butthead" but nice too...the arrogance of a surgeon!! Anyway, I will post more tomorrow. Thanks Stephanie!!!

I'm glad that's over for you!!! I will never forget the crap I had to drink for my CT scan, about 3 weeks after my gastric bypass ... so nauseated, and I had to drink a full liter of Crystal Lite Peach Tea-flavored nastiness. It took FOREVER to get it all down. And I will never again want Peach Tea! Thinking about you today as you get the results from your test ... let us know as soon as you can. Dawn

That's funny you said you would never drink peach tea again, cause that is exactly what I mixed mine with, and I said the same thing....never drink it again!!! I felt sooo sick yesterday, I was sooo sick and nauseated and had to come home from Kohl's shopping with my son and go to bed. It was the first time after surgery I really felt like I would throw up like a real throw up! YUCK!! I took a phenergan and went to bed!! Felt sooo sick. Now today I am getting ready to go see Dr. Nyguen at 2:30, and see what the CT scan showed...my guess is nothing. Well, time to take a and get ready. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!! Deb
