The WAITING GAME.... I hate it!

I hate playing the waiting game with the Dr's office... I attended the seminar and one support group meeting.. turned in my paperwork ALONG WITH my insurance company's WLS policy.. and a confirmation # from when I called and spoke with the insurance company directly and they said my company's DOES HAVE a WLS policy and if I met all the requirements.. I can have it... I turned all that in a week ago.. and I still have heard NOTHING ..... It's driving me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't want to be a pest and call the office.. they said if I haven't heard anything in 2 weeks to call back.. but... I WANNA KNOW NOW!!!!! ...... DAMN.. I sound like one of my kids.!!!!

BOY DO I FEEL LIKE AN ASS! No sooner had I posted this.... then Judy from Dr. R's office call me.. I have my consult October 25th @ 9am!!! YEA ME!!!

Whoooo hoooo! Consult for Stephanie NEXT WEEK! No feeling like an ass is allowed though ... we all have felt the fear that NOTHING was going to happen, and we cried on this board, we wrote about it in our profiles, we worried over it in the middle of the night. And then BOOM, we get a phone call or a letter, and all of a sudden, there's not enough time to get everything done before our SURGERY DAY! Excited for you, Dawn

I am glad to hear you have the appointment!!!!! I remember how frustrating it was to wait for anything after I decided to have the surgery. I wanted it right then!!!! We all go through that!!!! Hey Stephanie, The waiting is awful, but I'm glad Judy called you. I know they hated to hear my voice I called them so much checking on my status. They are very patient folks at Dr. Rowitz' office. I will be there at the same time as you are on the 25th. I have pre-op that day at 9:00. My surgery will be on the 30th of October. I'm very excited, but starting to get a little nervous too. Guess this is normal. Maybe we'll meet up later on in one of the support groups. I haven't been to one yet, guess I'll wait till after my surgery.

The waiting game is the pits. You sit and wonder if it is ever going to happen. But, once you get that sugery date it's not as bad, at least you know you have a specific time frame then. I have 11 more days until my surgery and even though somedays I feel like I have waited an eternity, its only been 3 months since I first walked in the door at BS to get the process started. I'm getting things in order, drinking my optifast, and enjoying life, knowing I will be on the losing side real soon. I hope to meet you Monday at our meeting, all the ones that are coming are the best people ever, you will feel like you have known them a lifetime. I always bring my husband and he enjoys being around everyone, also. He is very supportive and wants to be a part of this as much as he can. I'm happy the girls don't mind that he comes. We love Sonny!!! Any man that can listen to some of the topics of conversation we come up with, and still want to come back the next week ... well, all I can say is: WHAT A GUY! (Same goes for you, Ken!)

Thanks Dawn, we both appreciate knowing he isn't that out of place, lol! He enjoys coming the meetings with me, and you know how much you all have helped ease both our fears about this surgery. He loves to have a good time just like the rest of us and he knows how much it means to me that he stays involved throughout the whole process. Our meetings are the FUN part of it all, and I hate I have not been able to come to as many as I would like to. Things get hectic around here sometimes and when I have to work on Mondays, which isn't too often, it's hard for us to make every meeting.
