I'm looking for a military style boot camp in the upstate area for my 12 year old daughter (who thinks she's 18). I need something that is going to straighten her attitude and discipline her...plus scare the living crap out of her. Thanks for any info!! Susanne

Hi Susanne Can't help you with the boot camp stuff ... no idea! Hard to believe that sweetheart is causing you grief, but I do remember Emilie's preteen and teenage years! Arrrrghhhh!!!! I swear that's where all my gray hair came from! Just wanted to wish you the HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY today! I hope you have a beautiful day! Dawn

I'm about to hang up her up in the woods by her toenails!! I guess this is paybacks on how I did my parents! btw...how is your hair since you went to see Scott? Is it growing back? Mine grew back in about 6 weeks. Plus I go to Sam's and buy Marks brand (i think) shampoo. It's two HUGE bottles (40 oz) for around $6. It a thickening shampoo with vitamins and protein. I love it!

The hair is still coming out. Some days, I think it's getting better and then the next day, I'll have big wads of it in my comb. Ugh. Scott was great, although he was mighty expensive. My hair is all snobby and thinks it's better than me now! Dawn

My son was like that around the same age. We yanked his butt straight, and pulled him out of public school, got him into our church's school, and really kept praying and praying. Yes, it was expensive and we sacrificed to have him there, more than you will know, but the rewards were well worth it, especially now!! Each month when it was tuition time, we agonized, but God worked it out and somehow we had enough to pay it and eat. Now, he is 20 years old, and serving God, going to Oral Roberts University and wanting to go to Med School!! Who woulda thought?? Prayer works, plus putting them in the right enviornment. Usually teens/pre teens want to "fit in" and if her friends are all the "bad kids" then she will gravitate towards that. My son was/is a follower more than a leader, so it was important to become the parents. Bootcamp would not work for him as he can follow and would have done it just to appease us, but long term enviornmental change, (and believe me, we agonized over it then) is the key. I am sooo grateful that we followed our heart. All kids are different, BUT all kids are the SAME, so you will have to just become "the parent" and put your foot down now, before they become 18 and you are no longer a legal parent and have no legal say. Blessings, I will be praying for you!!!!! Deb

I checked that site out...I myself might do that!! Maybe it'll help tone these bat-wings I'm sporting!! I ran upon a Civil Air Patrol cadet program for kids age 12 to 18 or 21. They hold the meetings at the GSP Airport on Monday nights. I am going to take her to check it out. I'm looking at something where she can come home at night...I don't want to send her off to some place where she gets hurt, raped, or killed (like some of these places that's been on the news). I just want her feelings hurt! But anyways, those websites are: www.spartanburgcap.org www.sccadets.org in case anyone else is looking for a program for their kids.
