Whining to you people now....
I whined to people at Dr. Bour's support group and now I am going to whine to you. I am stalling in my weight loss. I know...I know....I heard it all a thousand times...it's normal. It just that I am so used to seeing the scale move down every day. I have been stuck at the same number for 5 days!!!
I lost 15 lbs the first week and now nada. I'm gonna start my gym workouts on Monday since I get the drain out the later part of the week. That should help but I need to see some movement of the scale. Just wanted to cry to you guys
Rachel

Hey Rachel,
I know what you mean. There have been weeks that I have only lost 2 lbs but that is 2lbs that I am never going to see again. I think our bodies have to catch up when we
lose a chunk of weight. Your body is going whoa... what is happening? It will come off.
Hang in there.... we will lose this weight!!!!
Pam

Hey,
IT IS NORMAL!! But what you find is that when you "stall" in your weight, you will be losing inches....so look out smaller pants!!!!
A stall is really a time period of more than a month, so you are not stalling, you are losing, and what are you now, 3 weeks?? That is normal....your body is like "hey, what did you do to me....I am in starvation mode" so now it will try to hang on, but not to worry, you will start seeing it move again....plus you are holding on to more water since you are up and moving around more. You went to work today too.
Just wait, you will be fine
I always got excited once I learned that it meant I was losing inches....it was always more fun than seeing the scale move!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep up the great work!! 15 lbs in one week is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless,
Deb

No more crying. dear Rachel.
You already know this, but I'll remind you: You will not lose pounds every day over the course of this journey we're on ... you will sometimes even go through a week or more with no scale difference. It doesn't mean the surgery stopped working, or that you are doing anything wrong. It's just the way it goes!
I seem to be settling into a pattern of losing weight (a few pounds!) just after my monthly cycle begins again. But for the week, and sometimes TWO weeks, before I get my period, I pretty much stall out, and stare at the same number on the scale, day after day. I wonder how this will change after my hysterectomy next month?!?
I'm so happy you have come through the first weeks so well. Already back at work, too! You're awesome!!!

Awww thanks Rachel! It's nice to be missed.
I've missed you too ... but I've been reading updated profiles, and keeping up with YOU, especially. I love to read about others' experiences with NORMAL recoveries, since my first month after surgery was so screwed up.
Thanks for the good wishes for the "lady surgery" (as my son would prefer I call it!). I'm sure it'll be a walk in the park compared to WLS. Can't wait to feel better!
