Another Propel Question
I was concerned as well. Pre-op I lived on propel as my water. I stayed away from it for about 3 mths. One day I really need some water, so I bought one. And it is great. The grape did make me sick once, I think I drank it to fast. But try it. If it does not work, then you know. But if it does, it makes life and getting your water in alot easier. I usually take my water bottle, 54 oz, fill it with ice, put 1 propel in, then fill the rest of the way with regular water. You still get the taste but cut down on the sugar grams by diluting it.
Hope this helps.

I am VERY sensitive to sugar, and still am 13 months post op, but Propel was the ONLY thing I drank for the first month, and I never dumped on it. Its fine.
All you can say for certain foods is to try them slowly. Unfortunately that is the only way, but Propel was highly recommended and still is by all the docs I have had, we just moved to CA, and even my new pcp here who is not that familiar with gastric bypass told me to drink Propel. It balances your electrolytes.
I loved mixing it with ice and putting it in the magic bullet right after surgery, because you can't drink lots of oz. at once, you can eat a teaspoon at a time, and it melts on your tongue, and down into your little pouchie, feels great!!!
Basically if I stayed and still stay under 4-5 grams at one mealtime, then I was good. Natural Sugars do not effect me, thank God!! Tomatoes, tomatoe sauce, and other things with natural sugars, in moderation, are good too.
Good Luck!!
Take care,
Deb
