I know I have been through this before, but everytime it happens, and now that I am further out and can "eat more" it freaks me out!!! I hate headhunger...and when I was a baby RNY'r I was okay with it, because I knew I couldn't eat no matter what, but I am now able to eat more food, (not that much more) but enough, and I still dump, but not as bad...but I don't eat sugar, so when I dump, its on real careful things...like a grilled cheese today made with low carb bread and I can't believe its not butter-butter, and velveeta cheese...there it is, Velveeta. SO, I am sick of feeling hungry now, and I don't really want to eat, but I feel bored maybe?? and that might be contributing to the headhunger thing. Okay, so I have to find something to do to take my mind off the food issue....see, old habits die hard!! I am going to go for a walk or something tomorrow!!! Also, I HATE that I can eat more now...any old timers out there have that issue?? Thanks guys!!! MISS EVERYONE....being homesick doesn't help either Deb

Sorry you are going through this Deb, I know for me boredom can play a huge part in it. I agree with you though on the whole freaking out over eating more. I know I still can't eat nearly as much as I could before, far from it actually. It doesn't keep me from worrying when what I eat seems like more than I would like.

Since I haven't had my surgery, I can't relate to the head hunger, just yet, at least not the same way you are experiencing it, so, I just wanted to tell you that I looked at your 13 month picture and had to say WOW! What a difference a year makes. You look terrific, and about 20 years younger than you did before the WLS. I wish you the best of luck gettng through the hunger thing I know it has to be hard to deal with and I'm sure I will be experiencing the same thing down the road. Just look back at your before pics and look at where you are now and how fantastic you look, and I believe it would kill any head hunger you might have, LOL! Keep up the great work Deb, it's all paid off for you in the end. Take care! Mary

Thanks so much for the sweet comments!! I think my basic problem is that I am thinking about food a lot more lately, and I agree with Kylee, that I am probably not eating anymore....but it seems like it so it freaks me out!! I just need to drink more, and distract myself. I know that my doctor told me many years ago that if you are hungry, to drink first, because thirst can also feel like hunger. I will start trying that tip, and also will start writing down all my foods. I really need to start working out a lot more too...but I hate going to the gym, and need to find something I can do at home Thanks for all the sweet comments,a nd I miss you guys so much!! Thanks for the support!!! Deb

Your very welcome Deb. I know now one of the reasons Dr. Bour makes us use optifast before surgery, it helps prepare you for what's to come. I have been on the optifast for 5 days now, and thank god, after the first day, I haven't been thinking about what I can't have to eat. I'm actually enjoying not making myself miserable stuffing my face when I sit down to eat. I know it's crazy but just since I have been on it I feel so much better, even though I don't feel like I have lost any weight ( not weighing until tomorrow). Take Care! Mary
